'Mex?' Christopher asked. 'We've been walking for hours, my feet hurt.' He sat down on a tree stump, and started to rub his feet. 'Well..' Mex said, as he sat down next to him. 'I might have to think about the paths we have been taking here... It just doesn't add up.' 'Why's that?' Christopher looked at Mex. 'Well, you see?' Mex grabbed the 2 handed sword which he borrowed from Christopher, and started to draw a map in the sand. 'You told me about this house in the middle, but there is no middle.' He continued to draw. 'The forest seems to dissappear, and reappeard at random times. This causes the middle of the forest to move around.' 'I don't think I follow...' Christopher said. 'Let's say, we're sitting right... Here.' Mex drew a circle on the floor. 'the middle is now 500 meters east. But when we get there, the middle might have migrated 300 meters south. No matter how hard we try, we never will be in the middle of this forest.' Mex frowned, as he got annoyed by not being able to figure out how to get to the middle. 'It's simple, Mex.' Christopher tried to pick up his swoord, but it seemed heavier than he thought. 'The middle migrates, right?' Mex nodded. 'That's right.' 'In that case, we have to do nothing!' '... Nothing? That doesn't sound logical..'  'We just wait for the middle, to come to us!' Christopher turned around, awaiting Mex's response. He seemed confused, but also tired. 'That.. Seems like something we could try. Okay! Let's settle here for the night.' Mex started to unpack, and enjoy the scenery. Now that he didn't have to think about where to go, or when to get there, the forest seemed.. Peaceful. It was heavilly shadowed by the tall, grim looking trees. And there was more moss than grass. Strange creatures would appear to drink from a creek nearby, or follow the fireflies that flew across.

'Just to be clear, what do you know?' Lisai asked. 'I'm not sure what you're on about.' she grabbed the bars, and tried to move them around. 'Hm?' Queenly said. 'Ah, now that's the good part.' Queenly put her feet from her desk, and walked over to Lisai's cell. 'My research started just last year. There was this.. Unknow magical power that had no source. Until I found a lead. About 3 weeks ago, I had my guards spying on you for a while. Mainly because of your mother's background. Seeing as you are the only female child, her powers would most likely be passed on to you, not to mex.' 'I don't have powers..' Lisai mumbled. 'I could just tell you that, no need to spy on me!' 'Such a liar...' Queenly put her hands behind her head, and fixed her hair. 'I know everything. I even know that you are the one who set fire to the bar last night.' 'That's not true!' 'Shut it, you lying monster! My lance is just over there, and I could drill you between your eyes if I desired to.' 'Than why don't you? If you really know what I am, people would cheer your name on the streets.' Lisai pushed herself away from the bars, and sat down on the wooden bench in the cell. It was the only thing inside.  'Not just yet darling. First, I need you as a hostage.' Queenly said. 'I don't suppose I have to tell you why, don't I?' She giggled, and went to polish her lance. She was smiling from ear to ear, her plan was air tight. 'It's because of the Aching stone. Right?' 'It is.' Queenly said. 'But do you already know why?' 'I have my thoughts about that, yes.' 'Sadly, you won't be able to tell those ideas to your big brother.' 'How's that?' Lisai sounded nervous. 'If you know all about me, you know how to get rid of me.' 'I do.' Queenly said smug. 'That's why you have every right to sound nervous. If Mex hands me that Aching stone, everything will be just allright. Trust me.'

'I never knew we could build a tent together!' Christopher said happily. 'And it's pretty decent looking as well!' 'Says you.' Mex said, teasing. 'You know. You're pretty bright! You don't deserve the crap your sister is treating you like.' 'Oh, thanks.' Christopher said, while blushing. 'I really like to hear that from you. I really look up to you!' 'Hehe, there's no need for that. I'm just a commoner, and you're one of the royals. You should be proud of where you are in life.' 'I guess...' Christopher rubbed his eyes. 'Mex? Is it okay if you take the first shift? I'm feeling pretty tired..' 'Sure! I'll keep an eye out, please rest as much as you'd like. You're no good if you doze off mid fight.' 'As you say. Goodnight Mex!' 'Goodnight, Christopher.' Mex had said goodnight, but a fade ray of sunlight showed that night and day were switching places. Just like the pieces of the forest. It was very confusing to think about. But Mex had nothing better to do, he just had to wait for the middle of the forest to come to him. 'I don't even know what to do next... Who is this person in the house? Is it friendly? Does she send me on another quest? I guess only time will tell..'  Pieces of forest would sink into the ground, and other pieces would rise out of thin air, some levitating in the air for a few seconds.'I can't believe my father would spend so much time in here, just to provide my mother with ingredients. This place looks like an absolute hell.'  Little bugs were crawling down Mex's legs. Some of them seemed normal, but others seemed to be modified by magic. 'It's me. Prepare.' A voice said. 'Who's there?!' Mex grabbed the 2 handed sword. 'N-no... Don't yell at me.. Please..' The voice seemed to fade away. '... It's the dream?' Mex remembered the dream he had the other night, about the purple looking ghost. 'Was it... Not a dream after all?' He smashed his sword into the ground. It started to shake in response to Mex's violence. It was responding to the impact he just made with his sword. 'Is this forest... Alive?'
