'Lynch, our worlds may be more connected than you think.. Mother?' Gladia turned around, and faced her mother. 'Is it okay if I take my guest to the library?' She nodded, and smiled kindly. 'That's okay sweetie, just keep yourself safe.. I also don't think it's safe for a small child to enter. Sir, would you mind letting me keep him here?' Lynch looked down at Youkala, who was heavily shaking his head. 'Please, feel free. Can you excuse me for a second?' Lynch got down on his knees, looking Youkala in his eyes. 'Listen, little guy. I won't leave you behind. Understood? I'll take care of you, and maybe even learn you a thing or two. But, for now you have to stay put here. Can you handle that big guy?' Youkala felt more secure, and nodded. He grabbed Gladia's mother her leg, and waved farewell at Lynch. 'It's so nice to see someone take care of him.' She closed the door behind her, en walked down the stairs. 'Do you know him?' 'No.. I'm sorry. I only seen him roam the streets for quite a while.' 'It's just nice to have someone to look after, you know?' Gladia shrugged. 'Lynch, please mind the gap. Some of the library has been lost in an earthquake. It's not all that stable.' Lynch nodded, and followed Gladia's every move. When Gladia grabbed a torch, and they made their way inside, a colorful wall painting could be seen. It looked somehwat close to the story of his own world. 'This part is your world, a great war between sin and good. But here is our world. A somehwat bleak image of a star could be seen, and a portal to the other world. 'The star people granted us this story. We decided to paint it, so people from whenever, and wherever could know what has been foretold. Two warriors of different worlds would gather here, and open the portal to this other world. One of them will die, the other will win his battle. Until recent, we got a scroll that would explain how you're world works. You use technology that is far too advanced for us. So some parts are impossible for us to paint. This is all we have..' Gladia raised her torch, and the entire wall could be seen. The earthquake almost ruined it, but some of it was still goot to see. Lynch saw his own home world in the painting. There was a crack in the middle, and painted with a lot of black. 'This is.. Home..' He pressed his hand firmly against it, and felt somewhat safer. 'I'll do it. Just for the sake of getting there again, one day.'
'Dhulim, old pal!' Gantius had never seen the inspector so expressive towards anyone. 'H-hey! Inspector.' It seemed like the sudden outburst shook him awake. 'Any news yet?' Dhulim shook his head. 'I'm sorry sir, nothing points out to something extraordinary. He was stabbed whilst trying to defend himself. It's quite sad really.' All the expressiveness that the inspectors' face held, was gone. 'I see.. How about that dog of his?' 'Not a single trace sir, like she had vanished in thin air.' The inspector let his hands slip through his hair 'Great. So we have nothing to continue with? Not a body? Not a witness? Nothing?' Dhulim shook his head, somewhat shaking. 'I'm so sorry sir. All we can say is that is was someone from the Youkan army.' 'I'm sorry, but did you say.. No body?' Gantius decided to act like the inspectors helper. 'Well, yes.. We have no idea where it went, Gantius.' 'This isn't good..' He lowered his head, and rubbed his chin. 'If someone from the Youkan realm is behind all this... Than they might have taken his body!' The inspectors eyes widen. 'W-why would they do that?!' Gantius started to pace back and forth. 'Maybe they didn't want to kill him, but just to kidnap them.. It's possible for them the control his thoughts and his mind with parts of his body. They could even create a new one if they wished!' 'T--that's horrible! Why would they do that?' 'For the prophecy ofcourse. We take Mex for granted, but the truth is that if he would fight alongside Youka, they would win the war.' 'That would mean that we're in even more danger than we'd think! We should attack as soon as possible.' The inspector was all ready to storm out of the lab and report back to the army. 'Hold it!' Gantius grabbed the inspector's shoulder. 'His clone isn't him. They need Mex to win. The only thing that they could do was locate him, and try to get him back.' 'But where would he be then?!' The inspector was losing his patience. 'As we said earlier, he might be somewhere within his own mind... Or, he might be born somewhere else as well. His mind would swap bodies, just to be safe. But, I can't be certain.' 'So, I should call them, and say that we shouldn't attack youka yet, because Mex is somewhere deep within outerspace?' 'Inspector, please! It's not like that. He's in a different universe, that's all. There must be a way back! The thing i'm more worried about is what happened to his mind in that world
'Come on Mex! You're almost as slow as a fairy snail.'February was happily skipping along the buttercups in the field. 'Hey, no fair! Just hold on for just a sec.' Mex felt his pouch, just to be sure that he had everything he needed. 'Let's see, fresh water, bread, Aching stone, map.. Check! Okay we can go!' 'Mex, what's up with you and that stone?' 'You mean the Aching stone? Mex pulled it out of his pouch, and showed it to February in his cupped hands. 'If I may believe Queenly, this little stone contains all my memories from the other world. So it's important that I never lose it!' February nodded. 'Say, why don't we teleport to her house? It's much faster.' Mex awkwardly put his hand behind his head. 'Erm, no thanks. I'd rather keep my food inside.' She giggled softly 'Fine, maybe some other time!' Together they continues their walk by foot. It wasn't far, but the road was a mess. Far, in between the trees, there was a small farm, and a dozen of houses. 'It's the one in the middle!' Happily, February made her way to the door, an knocked. 'Who's there?' A bored, monotone voice said. 'It's me! Queenly said that you wanted to talk to me?' The door opened, and the judge greeted February warmly. 'Hello! Well, I haven't yet collected all the data.. But please, come inside! I would be delighted to show you what I have.' As she was about to close the door, Mex quickly got in. 'I'm sorry, i'm not bothering anything, right?' The judge looked at him with a bored, emotionless face. 'Sure, whatever.' She placed her hand on February's shoulder, and guided her in. 'Please, have a seat. Would you like a glass of something before we start?' February shook her head, and sat down on the, with straw covered chair. 'Okay, this is what I have thus far.' She pulled a ancient looking book out of a pile with other books about space, and astrology. 'Once every three years there is a comet festival. Many shooting stars can be seen, it has been said that these stars are the people that have died within those 3 years. People suspect this because when the great was was over, the stars that fell were trippled in number! It hurts me to say this, but I assume your people are up there with the wandering souls of the death from the past 3 years. I have a friend in Dernudist, he knows everything about the comet festival. But you have to hurry! the comet festival is in 3 days from now. February, your people may be in danger!'
