The other day I heard the girl talking to her friends like, "omg I'm soooooo emo... like yesterday I--"
and I pretty much tuned out the rest of their conversation.
I, myself personally, and am not emo. However, in any cases whatsoever if you have to run around telling people you are something, you are are most likely not that something.
(Like, if you were like this girl telling people repeatedly how 'emo' she is, she isn't an emo.)
the same applies for any 'clique' or anything really.
'I'm such a nerd.' probably not.
'I'm so hipster' nope.
'I can't believe how emo I am.' suuuuuuuure
of course there are exceptions but in almost any case running around screaming "i'm an emo!" makes you NOT an emo in my book.
