Emily's POV.
I can't wait for Albert to open his Christmas present tomorrow! I hope he likes the iPod.. I haven't decided if I will give him the book as well, he might think it's kind of ridiculous.
I'm still reeling from the fact that Ellen really called my mum to invite us to celebrate the Christmas Day in her house! I'm so nervous but also so excited!
I just think Albert will think it's a little awkward but it will be fine because Sophia will be there and she's always an amazing host and nice to everyone.
The dinner went very well. My parents didn't mention New York and my dad was rambling about a client he had ten years ago. It was a man in his early thirty's that was arrested here in London. He was at the hospital with serious injuries and it seems that he was accused of something he didn't do. He was a client of my dad but he lost the case giving him five years of prison.
He left prison after three years due to good behaviour and decided to move to another country.
My dad literally ruined that man's life because he lost the case.. I wonder what that man felt towards him..
And the worst is, that type of criminals never consider the fact that their actions is what caused their accusation in the first place, not the lawyers' work.
I asked my dad what was the accusation about but he didn't want to talk about it. The interesting and scary part is that the man tried to contact my father two days ago.
Anyway, that was the first and last case my dad lost. After that he never made a single mistake in his professional career and I really wish I could ever be as much successful as he is.
Albert's POV.
I can't take another stupid joke from fucking Santa Charles.
I've sent two texts to Emily but she didn't reply no any of them.. I guess she's having fun with her family and that releases a certain weight on my chest.
I can't fucking believe that my mum invited Emily's family to spent Christmas Day with us tomorrow. I'm so fucking nervous of fucking everything up. I never get nervous ahead of time or overthink shit and especially, I don't really give a fuck about what people think about me, but it's Emily's mother that I'm talking about. I need her to like me or at least not to hate me so damn much.
I can't listen to another Christmas song and I might have to punch Charles' face if he doesn't take that Santa Claus mask off. Not that my wish of beating the shit out of him would decrease without it..
"Hey," Sophia says siting next to me on the couch. "What the hell is wrong with you?" She says with humour.
"What?"
"Three hours and you haven't said any stupid remark about my dad's suit.." She giggles.
"I'm trying to be nice," I warn her.
"Why? Trying to get cut off of the Santa naughty list?" Sophia mocks.
"Looks who's still in the kindergarten.." I roll my eyes at her.
"We both know that if Santa was real you wouldn't receive any presents because you're always a dick to everyone," Sophia laughs at her ridiculous joke.
"Yes, I would! When I was a little dude, I used to leave him a plate of coo-" What the hell am I saying? "Just grow the fuck up, please," I roll my eyes at her and she laughs.
"You really can't take a joke.." Sophia shakes her head.
"First of all, I do can take a joke. Second, fuck it I would buy my own shit," I say with a small smirk and Sophia laughs again. I guess this isn't too bad, I haven't throw up yet.
"Ready to see Emily's parents tomorrow?"
"I don't know," I answer with some annoyance in my tone.
"Well, I think you'll do great," Sophia smiles.
"Clearly," I playfully roll my eyes.
"Unless you fuck everything up by pouring wine on Emily's mum' shirt or break something while they're here."
I instantly lift my middle finger at her.
"You should actually do that, tomorrow! Yeah, her parens will love you!" She mocks and I roll my eyes at her annoying gaze.
Emily's POV.
The rest of the night goes well and a twist of anxiety and excitement is growing on my stomach.
I hope that Albert and Sophia are having a good night as a family. I know he doesn't consider Sophia as a sister to him but I know they care for each other.
**
It's nine AM.
I get up and take a quick shower and grab my red jumper with a snowman, a penguin and a Christmas tree in black on the front.
I grab my black jeans and let my hair down.
I'm so happy for spending this special day with Albert. I couldn't ask for more!
We leave the house and as we approach to Sophia's house, my heart starts to beat faster on my chest. My parents will finally spend some time with my boyfriend.
I just hope that everything will do just great without unexpected events.
(Merry Christmas! Hope everybody has had an amazing day! Xxx)
