James Potter x Reader

You're sleeping peacefully when you hear yelling.
"Y/N!" None other than James Potter screams up the stairs of the girls' dormitories. "Y/N! It's important! Wake up!"
"Get your arse down here so we can all sleep!" Sirius hollers.
You get up and stumble down the stairs, feeling bad that the whole house was being awakened just because your boyfriend was being annoying. "What the hell, James?" You demand when you get down the stairs.
"I have a serious question." He says to you, Remus, Sirius and Peter.
"What?" You all chorus. James is wide awake, but the other four of you are bleary eyed.
"Do Cyclops wink or blink?" He asks, his face showing complete seriousness.
"Are you bloody kidding?" Sirius asks.
"It's three in the morning, James!" Remus exclaims.
"Was this really the time?" Peter looks exasperated.
"You woke everybody up to ask that?" You demand.
James blinks, like he's shocked nobody else cares. "Have you guys really never wondered that?" He asks, looking befuddled.
"No!" You all say loudly.
"But what's the answer?" He presses.
"I dunno, James. What is it?" You ask, thinking a punchline would ensue.
He blinks. "I don't know. That's why I asked. You guys are smart." He adds, particularly to you and Remus.
"I don't know about them, but I've never considered it. I'm going to bed, mate." Remus claps James' shoulder and walks up to their dorm.
"Goodnight. I need my beauty sleep." Sirius grumbles, and follows Remus.
"I'm bloody tired." Peter follows them out.
James looks crestfallen. "But do they blink or wink?"
"Well," You say contemplatively. The only reason you're staying is because he looks so upset. "I suppose it'd be winking. But then again, it's normal to them, so it might just be blinking."
"Exactly! You see the problem!" He perks up.
"Let's just go with winking."
"But how do we know that's right?"
"Well, when you find a Cyclops, you can ask him."
"How do I find a Cyclops?"
"I dunno, sweetie. Can we contemplate this in the morning?"
"How am I to sleep with this pressing matter at hand?"
"Do you wanna go to the library?" You sigh.
He nods. "Yes please."
"Fine. Let's go." You shake your head.
He grins and kisses you. "I love you." He says happily as he grabs something off of the couch. He drapes the Invisibility Cloak over the two of you and you sneak into the library.
What feels like hours later, you finally speak up. "I don't think any of these'll tell you."
"But I need to know."
"Well, do Cyclops even do either?"
"Duh. You have to blink."
"Blinking is part of the autonomic nervous system. Winking would be somatic. So I guess it'd be blinking."
"I don't know what those words mean, but it sounds smart so we'll go with it." He stands up, pulling you with him.
"Goodnight." He smiles and kisses your cheek at the bottom of the girls' dormitories. "You're the best."
"Yeah, I know. Goodnight." You smile.
