Kai's P.O.V.
We get back from the dance room, and Suho goes to unlock the door. He asked which of us locked it and D.O. says he did. We all walk in to see a few bags on the floor and a girl snooping around our dorm. I go up to her and grab her arm, thinking its a sassange fan. Instead of a girly scream, I receive a hard punch to the face. Did I mention she's wearing rings? She is. I hold my now spurting nose and stumble away. Suho takes the lead in interrogating her.
"Who are you and why are you in our dorms?"
He says, while she shakes out her hand, sending me a sympathetic glance.
"I'm your new band member."
Chen laughs, well all of us who weren't just punched do. She takes out a paper contract and hands it to Suho. He reads it over, his face slowly morphing into confusion.
"This says your the new member of Exo?"
"Really? Wow, aren't I surprised."
She says sarcastically.
"Call your manager to verify. I'd stay somewhere else but my rent just ran out. Once I start earning I'll move out. Till then I'm on your couch."
Suho is still stunned so I decide to take the lead in this interrogation.
"Okay, so why the hell are you a girl? Because last time I checked we're all guys. Exo is this thing called a boy band, so what the hell!!"
I was expecting her to start crying, or flinch or something, but instead she says this.
"Are you sure this is a boy band? Because all I see is a little girl who can't handle a punch. Honestly, are you on your period?"
I see red and grab her wrist, because I'd never hit a girl, but I'll damn well throw her out of our dorm. She wrenches her wrist away and grabs her stuff.
"Guess I'm not welcome here, so I'm going to go hang at the club across the street. I'll meet you guys in the morning."
I might be seeing things but I swear her eyes are watering. I feel bad for a second but she's already gone, leaving nothing behind. I see Suho's disapproving look but I couldn't care less. Who does she think she is anyway?
We spend the rest of the night ignoring each other, each trying to figure out how we feel about our new band member. I keep replaying what happened in my head, and the guilt weighs heavier on my shoulders each passing minute.
"D.O.?"
I whisper from the chair I'm curled up on. He's sitting on the other side of the room, reading cooking recipes online. He glances at me before going back to his tablet.
"What is it Jongin, why are you sulking this time?"
I don't reply, knowing he knows why I'm down. I continue to sulk, wondering why I feel so bad.
"Do you want my advice?"
He asks and I nod slightly.
"If you punched me, then I ran out, what would you do?"
"I wouldn't punch you Kyungsoo."
"Humor me Kai."
So I think about it, I really do. It hurts even more when I envision D.O. running out, tears in his eyes, feeling he isn't welcome.
"Kai, I know your pride is hurt, but she'll be one of us soon, no matter what."
I watch D.O. continue to read articles, not giving me any attention. So I grab my jacket and head to the club across the street.
