Once we get home Kai claims me for another dance practice, and after grumbling about it for a few minutes I follow him to the practice room. This time I wear my vest underneath a loose muscle shirt, hoping I don't pass out. We hit play on the new song Monster, and start to work out the routine. After about an hour of hearing the same beat repeated, we're both sick of it.
"The songs get old fast."
Kai says this while wiping the sweat off his neck and I nod, chugging back a bottle of water. I'm not attracted to him, but he's still...easy enough to look at. He nods at me, wondering if I'm ready to continue, and I shrug, not tired yet.
"Let's try something else, ya?"
"Whatever."
I reply, not really concerned with switching things up, I'd rather just get the routine down. Kai plugs in his iPhone to the speaker, and a slower beat comes on. I don't miss the smirk on his face as he reaches for my hand. He's probably expecting the clumsy me from a few days ago, but I'm a quick learner and Bongyoung has been teaching me whenever he has time.
Instead of letting Kai lead, I wrap my arm around his waist, taking advantage of my height and leading. He startles for a second, before gently placing his wrist on my shoulder, his fingertips grazing my neck slightly. He doesn't break eye sight as I lead us through a simple waltz, not failing on one step. He pulls me closer, his eyes questioning me slightly as the beat changes to a quicker one. I let my hand slide up to his shoulder, gently holding onto him as we switch places, still dancing to the song. He gently nudges my head, encouraging me to lean into him. His hand is firm on my waist, and I slowly nudge my nose into the crook of his neck. The song speeds up, and Kai leads me through some more complex steps, spinning me away from him before pulling me back, his hand back to gently holding my waist.
The song ends and I slowly pull away, missing the warmth from our dance. Something in his eyes has softened, and I think I've made my first friend in the band. We walk back in silence, and everything feels slightly less scary than it seemed before. Kai goes to take a shower, and I don't fail to notice how D.O. ruffles his hair, painting a smile on Kai's face.
"You two are close?"
I question, sitting with Kyungsoo while he makes dinner.
"Yes, we're pretty close. He's actually easy to be around once you get to know him."
I nod, scratching my ears through my hat. The amount of time we've spent inside is getting to me, leaving me restless. I whine while scratching my head, huffing out a sigh and scooting off the counter to pace.
"You okay?"
Kyungsoo questions and I nod, trying to figure out how to expend my pent up energy.
"I'm going to the gym I'll be back after supper!"
"I'm coming!"
I yell, not even knowing who said it. I snatch my bag from the dance practice and run up to, Chanyeol I believe. He laughs and waves for me to come with him.
"Already getting anxious?"
I nod, trying to calm the wolf in me that's begging to run free.
"You have no idea."
~~~~~~GYM~~~~~~
I push open the heavy door and drop my bag at the entrance, all my pent up energy threatening to burst. I grab some gauze out of my bag and wrap my hands, stepping from one foot to another as I eye up the punching bag.
"So do you wanna try weights or..."
I cut him off with a swift punch to the bag. It jerks on the chain and I start releasing all my tension on it, bruising my knuckles as I go.
~~~twenty minutes later~~~
Pow!
I've taken to sitting on the floor watching Grey beat up a punching bag. I'm taking a water break and he doesn't even seem tired. And he's a girl. I shake my head and offer a water bottle, finally getting him to take a break.
"Wow."
I say, not really sure what else to.
"I used to be a fighter in the underground."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Then fight me!"
Grey looks at me like I'm crazy, but I stand up and offer her my hand.
"Let's go!"
Grey's P.O.V.
I look at Chanyeol like he's crazy. Did he not just see me going at the punching bag? He starts bouncing from one foot to the other, punching the air, and I wince.
"No, Chanyeol I really don't think-"
"Come on! It'll be fun lets go! I'm strong I can do it! You're a girl anyways so I'm sure I can beat you!"
At which point I stand up, now happy to spar with the idiot.
"You throw the first punch Chanyeol."
"I can't hit a girl."
He states, suddenly confused.
"Whatever, think of me as a guy!"
He finally gives a weak punch to my shoulder, so pathetically gentle I start laughing.
"What?! I can't hurt you!"
"Chanyeol, when you fight someone, you fight to win. You fight to be the one standing at the end.
...
Now hit me."He swallows, and starts with the ridiculous bouncing again. Then he jerks out his left fist, aiming for my shoulder again. I grab his arm and twist it, throwing him onto the pad.
"Again."
He stands up, bewildered, before sending a kick my way. I snap my fist out and hit him in his side, leaving him stumbling away gasping for air. He's quick to come back, sending a quick series of punches that I block. I try to stay calm, I really do, but I soon find myself throwing punches back, pushing him out of the ring. Blood rushes in my ears as I clip his jaw, and spin around, kicking his side and leaving him on the floor.
Then I realize I just beat up a Kpop idol.
Oops.
