Oliver's POV

A few weeks later

"She's grown so much since I last saw her!" Chloe cooed at Alexandra, who just flashed a smile that she had only just learnt how to do. "Yeah, she has. It won't be long before you and Nicholls have one of your own." I winked and she blushed

"Not just yet, I don't think I could cope."

"You'd be surprised what you can actually do when you have no other choice." I replied, watching as Alexandra lay on her back and moved her arms around. The smile from Chloe's face faltered "You've done a really good job Oliver, you should be proud of yourself, it must be hard without V an-" she began but I cut her off, it still hurt to talk about V and I hadn't heard from her since the argument that night a few weeks ago, I had no proof where she was and no one else did either although I was pretty sure she was with Tony, Mike and Jaime as usual. "Like I said, it's surprising what you can do, it's hard obviously but I wouldn't give them up for the world, I just hope I'm enough."

"You're a great dad Oliver, you took on Ashley and he's not even yours, you didn't have to but you did." Chloe assured me and I smiled "He's two years old Chloe and he's had three people leave him, three people! I wasn't going to be a fourth, I wouldn't let him down." I muttered and with that the guys and Emma came back holding bags of food and talking loudly. "Oli can we have a word?" Lee asked, stuffing food into his mouth, I laughed and rolled my eyes "Sure, can you watch them both Chloe?"

"Yeah, I'm sure Emma and I can manage between the two of us for a few minutes." she laughed and I followed the guys into the kitchen "We know that it's probably not a good time but we need to think about touring in the new year and making a new album and as a band we haven't really discussed this so maybe now is the time..." Vegan trailed off and I thought about how much of a bad idea this was

"Guys you know I'd really want to go and stuff but my ex fiance's kind of left me with children to take care of, I have responsibilities, I can't just leave them." I stated

"We understand that but the band's a priority too, we can't disappoint the fans Oliver. We need a new album." Jordan added

"How am I supposed to write lyrics and concentrate properly when Alex is teething and Ashley's walking around wanting to find out about everything? I'm not even getting a full night's sleep, I'm always tired, it's not possible right now, I'm sorry." I explained

"Can't you let your parents look after them?" Nicholls asked cautiously knowing he was walking on a fine line "I'm not turfing them off on other people Matt, I mean sure they'll probably say yes for the album but what about when we're touring around the world? Even if they would look after them during the tours, I want to watch them grow up, just because Veronica's missing out on it doesn't mean I am!" I raised my voice but tried to lower it realising the kids could probably hear. "How are you going to support them when you're not bringing any money in because you refuse to work?"

"I'll focus on Drop Dead." I shrugged, knowing my options

"Great, what about us?" Nicholls argued back and I bit my lip not knowing what to say

"Exactly, we'll let you rethink and we'll talk about it in a few days or something so you can change your mind." he replied, as the guys all picked up their things ready to leave

"I'm not going to..."

"I really think you should, V's gone Oli, it's been weeks, you just don't want to start on the band because that means accepting that things are back to normal and that you're moving on, there's no reason why you can't hire someone to look after them but you choose not to, we'll see you later"

Veronica's POV

The heat was killing me, we rarely got any in England so this was hard to live in even though I thought I'd be used to it after going to warped. I lay on my bed staring up at the ceiling as the fan blowed cool air into the room making it a little easier to be in. I could hear the guys whispering out side of the door debating who should knock and who should say what, I sighed and rolled my eyes. There was a short knock on my bedroom door and it flung open leaving three men stood in the door way. "See, that wasn't so hard was it?" I asked and their cheeks turned a light red knowing I had heard everything. "What did you want to ask me?" I carried on and turned my attention back to the ceiling. They all stood nudging eachother before Mike and Jaime pushed Tony forward, I raised my eyebrow just wanting this conversation to be over whatever it was about.

"Veronica."

"Tony."

"Erm, well...I wa- we wanted to k-know, erm..." Tony stuttered and Mike shook his head in annoyance

"How long you'd be staying here." Mike finished off for him and I looked at them all in horror, I had been staying here for a while and I should of known that they'd get sick of me sooner or later because everyone does. I felt the tears waiting to fall and I bit down on my tongue so they wouldn't. "Soon." I replied, not trusting myself to say anymore. Jaime and Mike nodded, accepting my answer and walked off, Tony didn't look so sure and he stood looking at me. "We don't want you to go, you know we love having you here V, but you've got a family at home, your daughter is missing you and believe it or not so is Oliver. You can't hide here forever and you're more than welcome to come back whenever you want but I want you to at least try to work things out for the sake of your kids." Tony stated, pulling me in for a hug. I just nodded but I couldn't bring myself to hug him back, he doesn't want me either and I was tired of people acting like they cared. How do you forgive someone that has betrayed you? How was I supposed to forgive Oliver and move on like nothing had ever happened between us?

Tony gave me one last smile "We're going out to get dinner, do you want us to get you anything?"

"No thanks." I replied, returning the smile back but I'm sure he knew it was fake

"Okay, we'll be back in half an hour or so." he did a quick wave and shut my bedroom door. I lay listening and there was some laughter downstairs before I heard the front door close and the car engine was turned on. I got up and watched out of the window as they drove off down the road, as soon as they were out of sight I grabbed my suitcases and piled clothes into it, not wasting anytime even though I had no where to go, nothing was planned out but all I knew was that I had exactly thirty minutes to pack my stuff and get away from this house.
