Chapter 7

Kat's POV

I finished up my shower, getting dressed, then I wandered out into the kitchen, grabbing a coffee and sitting down.

I wanted to call Dani, tell her about last night, tell her I was coming today, but it was still a little early and I didn't want to wake her up.

I smiled, thinking about last night. I mean yes, I was surprised that Matt had called and I was surprised that he wanted to come over, but god, he was like a completely different person last night and I liked it, I liked him.

I smiled looking at the flowers he'd gotten me, it was very sweet of him and he'd been very sweet and his kiss, god, it had been so soft and gentle, I'd gotten lost in it, in him. I was a little excited about this afternoon, seeing Matt again, I really couldn't wait.

"Fuck it." I mumbled picking up my phone. I was calling Dani now. I didn't care what time it was, I needed to tell someone.

"Hello." She answered virtually straight away.

"I didn't wake you I hope." I told her, grabbing more coffee.

"Not at all." She said. "What's up?"

"Well." I started. "You'll never guess where I'm going today?" And I was sure she wouldn't.

"Um, work." She chuckled.

"Nope." I said. "Zack's."

"Wait what?" She said sound as surprised as I thought she would. "You're coming too?"

"Actually yes I am." I said smiling. "I had dinner with Matt last night and he invited me."

"You had dinner with him?" She asked. "The emotional retard?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, but he was really sweet, completely different to the double date."

"Really?" She asked, sounding surprised.

"Yep, he brought me flower's, and." I went on. "He even kissed me."

"No way." Dani snapped.

"Yes way." I said softly, still thinking about that kiss. "He did."

"Oh my god Kat." Dani said. "It's good right? You like him?"

I looked at my coffee. "Yeah, I think I do like him." And I think I really did.

"Well that's good Kat." She said. "I mean after Brandon, you deserve something nice." And that was true, Brandon certainly was the king of all douchebag's.

"I do." I said. "Anyway, I'll let you go, I just had to tell someone, and I'll see you this afternoon."

"Yes you will." She said and then we both hung up.

I spent the rest of the morning catching up on some chores, I was trying to keep busy, trying to tell myself that I wasn't as excited to see Matt as I really was. But damn, I was excited to see him again, I really was.

Finally it was time to get ready and I spent a little time on myself. I put my hair up and didn't bother with make up, well because we'd probably be swimming, but still I wanted to make sure I looked good. I was glad I'd got the bikini yesterday and as I put it on I smiled. Yep, I looked pretty good.

Finally the door buzzer went and I felt my heart jump into my throat as I answered it.

"Yes?" I said, clutching my bag.

"You ready?" And god, his voice.

"I'll be right down." I said, quickly looking around.

I locked up and walked down the stairs. I wanted to run but I needed to be casual, I didn't want him knowing how damn eager I was to see him.

"Hi." I said walking out the door, and oh god, he looked perfect.

"Hey." He said walking to the car. "Let's go."

We got in the car and chatted on the way over. He asked me how I slept and he was being sweet again. Maybe that first date he'd been nervous? I wasn't sure, but when we were alone he was completely different.

We arrived at Zack's place and I looked at the house as we got out of the car. Jesus it was huge. Obviously being in a band paid well.

"Come on." Matt said marching up the path and opening the side gate.

I followed him, walking out and seeing a bunch of people I didn't know.

I looked at Matt, expecting him to introduce me, but instead he walked off, leaving me standing here alone, looking like a dick.

I frowned, watching him walk over and grab a beer, not even asking if I wanted a drink. That was fucking rude of him.

"Kat." Someone called and I looked over to see Dani sitting on a sun lounge.

"Thank fuck." I mumbled walking over to her. At least I wasn't standing there looking like a dumb ass anymore.

"Get comfortable." Dani told me, indicating to another sun lounge and I did just that, pulling my dress off and laying down.

"Would you ladies like a drink?" Brian asked, appearing next to Dani.

I glanced at Matt, who was currently talking to someone. "Yes please." I told him when it became obvious that Matt was never going to offer.

"Um Kat." Dani said looking at me. "I thought you said he was sweet?"

I groaned. "He was, he was sweet."

"Yeah right." She laughed. "You should have seen your face when he walked off, leaving you standing there."

I didn't reply, because she was right, I could only imagine what my face had looked like.

I got comfortable on the sun lounge, with my drink that Brian had gotten me and I laid back, watching everyone.

There were a lot of people here and honestly I knew three of them, that was it and as I watched Brian drag Dani off to introduce her to people I glanced at Matt. He was currently standing there talking to two people and ignoring my existence. Nice.

What a rude prick, I thought glancing around. And oh god, the most trashy girl I had ever seen walked in and made her way over to Zack. Obviously she was his girlfriend but I couldn't understand why. She had that 'I'd fuck anything with a cock' look about her and she repulsed me, she really did.

God, this was a nightmare. I was sitting here all by myself like a fucking loser. Why did Matt even invite me if he planned on ignoring me?

"So Matt." Someone said. "Who's the girl you brought with you?"

My ears perked up at the question. It was nice to know someone had noticed me sitting here by myself all alone.

"Huh." Matt said. "No one."

I looked at him through my sunglasses. Did he just say no one? NO ONE? I was fucking no one? What an asshole.

"No one." I muttered to myself standing up. "Fucking no one."

I grabbed my bag, glancing around looking for Dani. She was busy talking and I didn't want to disturb her.

"No one." I hissed again, walking to the side gate.

Fuck this shit. I wasn't hanging around, at someone's place, with people that I didn't know.

I was sure I wouldn't be missed. After all I was no one.
