Chapter 12

Matt's POV

"So who's idea was this?" I asked Brian as I climbed into the front seat of his car.

"Well." He said, reversing out of my drive. "I'm going to guess it was the girl's idea, because I wouldn't imagine a double date would be your idea."

"You're right." I mumbled, looking out the window.

Here we were again, going another double date with Brian and Dani. I personally would have rather just spent the night with Kat, but she insisted we go.

"So." Brian said as he drove towards Dani's house. "Are you and Kat serious?"

"What?" I snapped, glancing at him.

"I said." He chuckled. "Are you and Kat serious? I mean what, it's been a month and you seem to be spending a lot of time with her."

I rolled  my eye's at him. "Yes okay." I muttered. "Are you happy?"

He laughed. "Yes I am, thanks."

"So are you and Dani serious?" I asked him, turning the question around. He wanted to know my business, so I wanted to know his.

"Yep." He said smiling. "We sure are."

I went back to staring out the window. I wasn't sure why we were even having this conversation, I mean yes, I was serious about Kat, actually I was very serious about Kat, I fucking adored the woman, but I don't know why it was any of Brian's business.

"Have you slept with her?" He suddenly asked, putting on his indicator and turning into Dani's street.

"Excuse me?" I snapped, now he was just going to far.

"I said." He grinned again. "Have you you know, slept with her?"

"Have you slept with Dani?" I snapped back at him, wishing he'd drive faster so this conversation could be over.

"Yes I have." He said softly, grinning like a dumb ass. "Several time's. So have you?"

"No." I muttered. "No I haven't." But I wasn't going to explain to him that I hadn't because I was crazy about Kat, that I didn't want to rush her, rush things and when we did sleep together I wanted it to be perfect, special. God I sounded like a dick, but fuck, she had me wrapped around her finger.

"Mate." He said pulling into Dani's drive. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Nothing is wrong with me." I called out as he ran up to the door, getting Dani.

I got out and climbed into the back seat, waiting for Dani and Brian to come back to the car so we could go and pick up Kat.

"Hey Matt." Dani said climbing into the front seat. "How are you?"

"Yeah good." I said. "How are you?" And god forbid I was going to get out and walk if she even so much as mentioned Kat.

"Pretty good." She said smiling as Brian got in.

And that was the end of the conversation. I sat in the back seat as we drove to Kat's, watching them laugh, smile and fondle each other and by the time we got to Kat's I couldn't get out of the car fast enough.

"Won't be long." I muttered, opening the door and getting out.

"Take as long as you need." Brian chuckled as I slammed the door, ignoring his smart ass comments.

I shook my head, walking to the door and pressing the buzzer.

"Come in." Kat's voice said over the speaker and I frowned as she buzzed the door open.

I walked in, taking the stairs two at a time up to her apartment and as I reached the top of her floor she was standing at the door smiling.

"Babe." I murmured, walking in and pushing her back through the door. "You just let me in, you didn't even ask who it was?"

She frowned at me. "Because I knew it was you Matt."

I rolled my eye's at her. "Yeah, but what if it wasn't me?" I asked her and the way she just let me in, well it concerned me.

"Don't be ridiculous." She mumbled, putting her hands on her hips.

I looked at her, really looked at her, and damn, she looked beautiful, but she always did.

"You look gorgeous." I whispered, pulling her into my arm's and kissing her softly, taking my time, stealing a moment of private time before our double fucking date.

"Thank you." She whispered, smiling at me and god, I wish we didn't have to go on this fucking date.

"You ready to go?" I asked her, kissing her nose.

"Let me get my bag." She told me, disappearing into her room.

She came back out and I took her overnight bag from her. "Ready?" I asked her, turning to the door.

She nodded and followed me, and locking the door behind her. I kissed her quickly again, before heading downstairs to Brian and Dani who were probably making out like crazy in the car.

"Pop the trunk." I told Brian as we walked to the car and he did, so I threw Kat's bag in there while she got in the car.

"Okay." I said getting and doing up my seatbelt. "Let's go." The sooner this was over the better.

"What's the bag for?" Brian asked and I could hear the laughter in his voice.

"I'm staying at Matt's tonight." Kat said, fiddling with her seatbelt.

I looked at her. Did she have to blab about our business? It was not his business that she was staying at my place tonight.

"I see." Brian chuckled. "I hope you two are planning on behaving yourselves."

Was he serious?

"I hope not." Kat replied, smirking at me.

Dear god, she was as bad as him.

"Enough." I muttered, raising my eyebrow's at her.

"Sorry." She mouthed at me and then she went to looking out the window.

I sat back in the seat and inconspicuously studied her. She really was a beautiful girl and yes, I was falling for her, and I was falling hard. We just clicked, when we were together it felt like we belonged.

We arrived at the restaurant and headed inside. As expected Brian and Dani were all over each other. Honestly, I wasn't sure why they came, they'd be better off spending the night at home in the bedroom.

As we sat there, eating and talking, Kat rested her hand on my knee under the table. That was another thing about Kat, she didn't mind the fact that I wasn't comfortable with displaying affection in public because she knew when we got home I'd gladly shower her with all the affection she would possibly need.

I placed my hand over hers, squeezing it gently and she looked at me and smiled, a surprised look on her face.

"You're touching me." She whispered, trying not to laugh.

God I just wish this night would be over so Kat and I could go home and I could kiss her, because right now all I wanted to do was grab her and kiss her, preferably forever.
