Matt's POV

I glanced at the time. It was getting late in the afternoon, almost five and Kat still wasn't here and I was growing a little impatient.

I picked up my phone, calling her.

"Hello." She grunted sleepily.

"Are you asleep?" I asked her, a little offended.

"Well not now." She mumbled. "But yeah I only laid down for a second but I guess I fell asleep."

I felt a little sorry for her. Her new job was working her like a horse. "Are you coming over soon?" I asked in a softer tone.

"Yep." She murmured. "I'll have a quick shower and come on over."

"Good." I murmured back, I really just wanted to see her.

"What are we doing?" She asked me.

"Nothing." I said. "Just me and you, hanging out."

"Good." She whispered, hanging up.

I really did hope she hurried, I wanted to see her. We were leaving for the little tour tomorrow and I was disappointed that Kat wasn't coming. We'd only be gone for two weeks but I knew I was going to miss her, but because of her new job she just couldn't get any time off.

I was doing the whole romantic dinner thing again tonight. I was cooking, I had the candles out again and I was hoping we could just lay around on the couch together after. Kat was spending the night thank god and she'd see me off in the morning.

I went and checked on dinner while waiting for Kat to arrive, and god she was taking her sweet ass time about it. Finally the doorbell rang and I virtually ran to the door, throwing it open.

"What took you so long?" I asked her as she walked inside.

"I told you I was showering." She said, throwing her purse down.

"It was a long shower." I mumbled, walking into the kitchen.

"I enjoyed it too." She said, sitting down and looking at me.

I went to the fridge, frowning. "I thought you might you know, want to spend time with me." I mumbled, grabbing the wine.

"Well I'm here now." She added, watching me pour two glasses.

"Come on." I said to her, leading her into the dining room.

"Oh, you've gone all romantic on me again." She said smiling and sitting down.

"Well." I said sitting down. "I am going to tomorrow you know."

"Matt." She said laughing. "You'll only be gone two weeks, not the rest of my life."

"Are you even going to miss me?" I snapped at her, taking a long drink of wine.

"Of course I am." She said softly.

"Well you don't act like it." I muttered, feeling a little pissed at her lack of feelings.

"Matt." She said softly, reaching over and taking my hand. "I am going to miss you, a whole lot."

"Well you could still come." I said softly and I wanted to her to come so badly.

"You know I can't." She murmured. "But I wish I could."

I wished she could too. Dani was going, she was able to get the time off. The only one's who weren't going were Kat and Rachel and honestly I was glad that hog Rachel wasn't going anyway. I didn't want to have to look at her face every day.

"I wish you could too." I murmured, squeezing her hand.

"So." She said softly. "Let's eat dinner and then spend the rest of tonight together."

I nodded. I couldn't agree more. I just wanted to spend tonight together and hope that the next two weeks would go quickly.

I got dinner ready, thinking about Kat as I did. Our relationship had grown and we gotten into a nice routine with each other. She worked most days, but usually we stayed at each other's every night, we rarely didn't see each other, that's why these two weeks were going to blow, I was really going to miss her.

We ate and talked, it was always easy talking with Kat, we just fit together so well, even when we ran out of things to talk about our silences were always comfortable.

"Well." Kat said, pushing her plate away. "You continue to astound me with your cooking skills Matt."

I smiled, I was pretty good in the kitchen. "We still have dessert." I murmured, getting up and kissing the top of her head and grabbing her plate.

"Is dessert you?" She asked me, following me into the kitchen.

"Nope." I smiled. "Cheesecake."

"It's the next best thing." She told me, smiling.

"You can have me later." I murmured, pulling her into my arm's and kissing her softly.

"So are you all packed?" She asked me, wrapping her arm's around my neck and looking up at me.

"I am." I murmured, kissing her nose.

"Could your ego fit in your suitcase." She asked and then she dissolved into a fit of laughter.

"Very funny." I muttered, going to the fridge and getting out the cheesecake.

"Relax." She said getting two plates. "I'm joking Matt."

"I know." I said cutting the cheesecake. "That Desiree's comments just irk me."

"I know." She said softly. "And I also know that it's not true."

We took our cheesecake into the living room, getting comfortable and watching a movie. It was exactly how I'd planned the night to go, just Kat and I spending time together.

"So you're going to check on the house while I'm gone?" I asked her later as we were cleaning up before going to bed.

She nodded. "Yep, I'll call in on my way home from work."

"You can stay if want." I told her and I didn't care she stayed, she could stay forever if she wanted.

She smiled. "Maybe I will." She murmured. "Take advantage of your spa."

"Well." I whispered, pulling her to me. "We could take advantage of the spa now if you like."

She laughed softly. "What time is Dani picking you up in the morning?"

"Not until eight." I whispered.

Dani was picking me and Brian up and we were all heading to the airport together. I'd really wanted Kat to take me, but of course she was working and with traffic and parking we'd decided she'd be lucky to make it home for her shift in time.

"Well." She murmured, getting up on her toes and kissing my lips. "Why are we standing here?"

I shrugged. "No idea."

I grabbed her hand, pulling her into the second bathroom, the one that contained the spa. We got undressed while the tub filled up, then we both climbed in, with another glass of wine.

"You know." I murmured, pulling her closer and kissing her softly. "I love you woman."

She smiled against my lips. "Good." She whispered. "Because I love you."
