Kat's POV

I got in my car, having just finished work and smiled. Matt had called and left a voice message, so I played it before I left.

Hey it's me, just calling to see how you are. Have you checked on the house, anyway I'll call after the show.

I couldn't help but smile. Had I checked on the house? Hell I'd been pretty much living there. His house made my apartment look like a shoebox so hell yes I'd been taking advantage of it. The bed, the spa, the huge shower, the whole lot.

I started the car and headed to Matt's place. I hadn't been back to my place for nearly five day's. I'd just taken a heap of my clothes to his house. No I hadn't told him, but what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.

I arrived at Matt's, grabbing the mail, he always got a lot of mail and then I headed inside, filling the spa for my nightly soak.

I grabbed a glass of wine and my book, getting in. The only thing missing was Matt. I missed the dumb asshole, I really did.

I took my time, having a good soak, then I got out, throwing on a pair of tights and a shirt before ordering pizza and getting comfortable on the couch.

The pizza came and I stuffed my face, watching lame movies and waiting for Matt to call.

Unfortunately my night was interrupted by the doorbell and I frowned getting up to answer it, wondering how the hell I was going to explain my presence to whoever was at the door.

I walked to the door and opened it, to reveal a very attractive blonde woman, standing there, smiling.

She looked my up and down, raising her eyebrow's. "Um, is Matt home?"

"Um, no." I mumbled, looking her up and down. "He's on tour."

"Oh I see." She said smiling. "Are you house sitting?"

"Yep." I said. "I am."

"Sweet." She said pushing past me and walking inside, straight to the kitchen. "I'm sure you won't mind me having a drink." She said going straight to the fridge and grabbing a water. "I mean this is almost like my second home."

"Not at all." I muttered following her, wondering who the fuck she was.

"Oh." She said, obviously sensing my distress. "I'm Victoria." And she stuck out her hand.

"Kat." I said shaking it limply.

"So Kat." She said opening her water and taking a drink. "Are you a friend of Matt's or did he just hire you to look after the house?"

"Oh we're friends." I told her quickly.

She nodded. "Oh I see." She went on. "How did you two meet?"

"He came into my work." I told her, trying not to smile at the thought of a very drunk Matt singing Hotel California.

"Oh." She said raising her eyebrow's.

"Um so how do you know Matt?" I asked her, sitting down. I was curious, I was very fucking curious.

"Oh I've known Matt since school." She told me smiling widely.

I smiled back, trying anyway. There was something about her that I instantly disliked. "Oh." I muttered.

"Yeah I'm his girlfriend." She added.

HIS FUCKING WHAT??????

"Oh well." She said sitting down. "Ex girlfriend I guess."

"I see." I said through stiff lips.

"Yeah." She said smiling. "We've been together since school, and well we decided to take a year off, have a break from each other and next week the year is up."

"Oh." I wasn't saying much, oh and I see were the best I could do for the moment.

"Yeah and we decided after the year was up we'd get together and see where we were at." She told me, blissfully unaware that I was anything other than a house sitter.

"Oh well." I said. "The tour and stuff."

She shrugged. "It's fine." She told me. "I'll just call him, I'm sure he wants to catch up."

"I'm sure he does." I said, looking down at my hands.

"Yeah." She said taking another drink. "It's been a horrible year, a long year without Matt. I've really missed him and I can't wait to get back with him, I just haven't felt complete. Do you know what I mean?" She asked, looking at me.

I nodded. "Yeah I know what you mean." And unfortunately we were talking about the same fucking guy.

How did I not know about this Victoria? I got the crap blown out of me about Brandon, but here he was planning happy futures with this plastic bitch.

"Anyway." Victoria said standing up and rdaining her water. "I'll let you go."

"Yep." I said standing up, wanting the bitch to leave now.

"I'll go home and call Matt." She said as we walked to the front door. "Organise a date for our talk."

"Sounds good." I said reaching the door first and opening it.

"It does Kat." She said smiling at me. "And I just know he's been as miserable as me, we belong together."

"I'm sure you do." I told her, wondering how she spent so many years putting up with his emotional retardation. I guessed she was just used to it.

OR, he only did it with me? God, maybe he was embarrassed by me.

I looked at Victoria again, and yes, next to her I looked like plain Jane, so I could see why he was embarrassed.

"Anyway it was nice meeting you Kat." She called walking down the path to her BMW.

I watched her get in, a range of thoughts and emotions going through my head.

What the fuck had just had happened?

My mood was kind of ruined now and I went into the living room, turning off the television. To be honest I didn't even want to stay in this house any more, not after learning about the girlfriend, ex girlfriend, whatever the fuck she was.

"I hope they enjoy their fucking date." I muttered, stuffing my clothes into a bag. "Fucking prick."

I grabbed my stuff, locking up the house and going back to my apartment, letting myself in. As I walked up the stairs, Jeffery the douche from the second floor stuck his head out.

"Been staying at that rich boyfriends of yours house?" He chuckled.

"Shut up Jeffy." I snapped, calling him the name I knew he hated and making my way to my floor.

I let myself in, going to my room and throwing my bags on my bed. Fuck, my mood really was ruined.

I went into the kitchen, making a coffee and as I did that my phone rang.

"Ugh." I groaned looking at the number. It was him. "Yep." I answered, sounding impolite.

"Hey." He said. "How are you?"

"Fine." I mumbled.

"Good, so anyway, have you checked on my place?" He asked me.

"Yep went there this afternoon." I muttered. "All is well."

"Okay good." He said. "So only one week to go."

"Yep." Was my reply.

"I can't wait to get home." He told me.

I bet he couldn't. He could go on his hot date with Victoria.

"Yep, anyway gotta go to bed." I told him. "Up early for work and all that."

"Oh okay." He said and I could hear people talking in the background. "Well night."

"Night." I mumbled, hanging up.

Ugh, I hated him, the asshole.

I should have asked him if Victoria had called, but in all honestly I didn't want to know the answer. I guess I already knew anyway.
