Chapter 72

Irina's POV

Sunday, July 10th. 

Today was the day of the Euro Cup final. Of course I was going to go and support Cristiano. Today was going to be a special day and I am hoping he will be able to win. It'll make him so happy to win a trophy with Portugal. Cristiano had already left for training and I was getting ready I had curled my hair and put Cristiano's jersey with some leggings. I put some make up on, grabbed my bag and met some of the wags out in the lobby. The uber got us and took us to the stadium where we would be watching the game. We began to walk where we were suppose to go and stood there watching the guys warm up. 

The beginning of the game. 

The game was already intense since it had started. France was playing well, but so was Portugal. There was no goals yet to happen they were either stopped or the players weren't on target. That's when I noticed that Cristiano was on the floor, but in pain. He didn't care he kept playing through the pain. He was always strong, that's when in the 25th minute he couldn't do it anymore and got out. I knew that he would support them from the bench. The first half ended and no goals had happened. Nothing really that interesting. The second half there was also no goals. They had to add extra time. If no one scored in the extra time they would have to go to penalties. In the 106th minute Portugal had scored a goal. I quickly got out of my seat and began to clap. The rest of the time there wasn't any goals. Portugal had won the euro cup! I quickly walked out with some of the wags and began to make my way down to go meet Cristiano. Once we made it I looked around to see many of the French players upset or crying. It was depressing seeing them cry or upset, but once I saw that Cristiano had this huge smile on his face that feeling went away. I ran over to him and gave him a big kiss.

Irina: You guys did it!

Cristiano: I'm so happy, I knew the guys could do it. 

Irina: How are you feeling? With the whole injury? 

Cristiano: I'm fine. 

Irina: Good, I'm so happy for you and the team. 

Cristiano: I love you. 

Irina: I love you too.

Cristiano: (he got down on one knee and pulled out a box) I wanted to do this sooner, but I know that right now is the right time to do it. We've been together for a long time, and all you ever do is make me happy. You're the reason I have a smile every single day. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You're the only girl I ever want to be with. I want to wake up next to every morning. I want to have a family with you. So will you marry me? 

I was shocked I never thought that Cristiano would propose. I felt my eyes begin to water and nodded. He slipped the ring on my finger then he got up and gave me a hug. I hugged him back and I felt him kiss my head.

Cristiano: I thought you were going to say no.

Irina: Why would you think that? 

Cristiano: Because you stayed too quiet so I thought you were going to say no. 

Irina: I was just shocked that's why. You took me by surprise. 

Cristiano: That's a good thing that it took by surprise. 

Some of the guys from the Portugal congratulated both of us on the engagement. The team went to go get the trophy and their medals. I waited for them and watched them as they got their medals. Once they lifted up the trophy I began to clap for them.
