The sweet smell of cookies filled air , the entire Solo-Kenobi-Skywalker group was out to watch the tree lighting . It was a tradition ever since Padmè had brought Luke and Leia to see the tree being light.
They were lighting it earlier this year, before Thanksgiving but still it was a sight they all loved.
Rey's father and mother where there as well as Uncle Luke.
Rey was dressed in her cute little coat and Ben had on his black coat that was warm enough.
"Cold?" He asked as they were waiting for the tree to be lit.
"A little" she smiled at him "hold me?"
"Of course" he said and wrapped his arms around her waist to hold her and give her warmth.
The mayor was talking and they weren't paying attention . People were ice skating at the rink nearby .
They began to countdown till the tree was to be lit. Leia was recording the whole thing on her phone.
"Rey hold on " he bent down to tie his shoe and she watched as the tree light up.
"Ben isn't it beautiful... Ben honey ? Ben?" She asked turning to face him . He wasn't there and she looked around.
He was on one knee , a box in his hands and smile on his face .
"Ben?!" She said tears in the corner of her eyes.
"Reyhanne Kenobi..." he began with both their families watching. "Will you marry me?" He asked .
Rey looked down at saw the same ring that Leia , Mara and Padmè had wore expect now it had another diamond ... making it with four.
"Ben ?!" She asked tears rolling down and the cold wind blowing.
"I was waiting ... for today when the tree would be lit because we first kissed when the tree was lit ... the first time I realized I loved you when I was 16. Our families would bring us here and we would hold hands or just drink hot chocolate... I want to continue this tradition with my wife and our children some day... I want to spend the rest of my days with you... will you marry me ?" He asked.
"Yes !" She said tore her glove off . He smiled and chuckled as he slipped the blue diamonds on her hand.
He got off his knees and looked at her , she tackled him in a kiss and suddenly it began to snow .
Ben picked her up , his height of 6'3 and her only 5'5 , her feet were off the ground and her hands around his neck while he kissed her , holding her in his arms.
The snow fell around them and their families were snapping pictures . He put her back on the ground and kissed her forehead.
"I love you sweetheart" he said tucking back a piece of her loose hair that was a small curl.
"I love you too Benny" she hugged him tight and they turned to their families.
"About fricken time" Han said and the entire group laughed .
Leia hugged Rey and Ben , her tiny form crushing the newly engaged couple.
"I love you both so much... let's get you married and make me some grand babies !" She said and Rey giggled.
