Hi guys, nowadays all I do is think about this book and how to take the story forward. So instead of just thinking, I thought why not transform the amazing ideas into an update that is written over a range of days.
And, second thing is, this chapter will contain a bit of violence and things that don't usually happen in real life so don't go blaming me about it. Enjoy!
Jennifer's POV
My legs were aching as I carried on to the bus stop. It had been a week since that incident. I hadn't gotten any progress regarding finding out why Rogan was ignoring me. During all the lectures he would sit far ahead of me in a way to ignore. That hurt a lot!
Our school had decided to conduct our final exams earlier than the end of year prom. I had completely forgotten about the fact that I had a red dress in my wardrobe. I didn't even mention it to Rogan to wear a red tie. I doubt he'd even come.
Once, just day before yesterday, I'd crashed into him while rushing to get to my biology lecture. He didn't know it was me at first. He'd said sorry like any normal person would. But I recognized that voice. I could never forget, after all it belonged to the person I was madly in love with.
He looked so tired, the dark bags around his eyes were still present. He hadn't shaven in a lot of days, the beard and slight moustache on his face indicated that. Along with the bags, his eyes even looked red.
After he realised that it was me, he tried to walk away. But I caught his arm.
"What's happening to you? Why are you not taking care of yourself?" I asked him.
"Who cares?" He replied.
"I do Rogan, even if you don't believe it. Exams are approaching, please stabilise yourself before they hit you."
"Look who's talking..."
"Excuse me?" I was confused.
"Look at yourself Jennifer, you haven't been eating properly during lunch and that is surprising considering your big appetite." It was true. I wasn't particularly paying attention to my personal hygiene at the moment.
"Why are you acting as if you really care about me?" I replied. His eyes darkened a bit before he pinned me to the lockers.
"I care about you more than you can even think of so don't ever try to judge me again!" His voice was harsh but I sensed the small amount of love laced around his words. I couldn't lose hope now. He walked away, leaving me utterly confused but a bit happy.
A smile graced my lips as I remembered that incident. There was only a week left till my exams and I couldn't help but feel a bit excited. High school was finally ending. I would get to go out into the real world and learn about it's ways. I had zeroed on architecture as my career. I was good at drawing and mathematics.
Shelby had decided to pursue her career as a nurse. I felt proud at her decision. Even if she was a bit loud, she was always the first person to look after people. Michael wanted to do a major in history, he loved that subject. I knew that he would become an archaeologist in the future.
And Rogan, well he was very steady-headed. He knew that he wanted to be an engineer. That's another trait that I admired in him. He knew what he wanted and he went after it. I fell for him because he was different. He didn't care about his looks, he never even applied an ounce of gel on his hair. And still, I love him. To eternity.
I was still in my thoughts when the bus reached school. Starting to walk towards school, I noticed a black sedan entering the gates. It looked familiar, I had seen it before. But where? Right, it belonged to the Leroys. I saw Rogan getting out of it followed by his father. Mr. Leroy looked at his son in a pained way. He told him to take care of himself and went away.
