Hi guys, this is a really big chapter, something I've been dreaming to write since a long time. This story changed it's course on it's own. I had a completely different ending planned, but then it turned out this way. Because if I had written that then Jennifer would've been portrayed in a very bad light.
Anyways, this chapter will be really long, hopefully all my *cough cough* silent readers will love it. I can read minds by the way, because even if you guys don't vote or comment, I know y'all love me.
Jennifer's POV
"Stop tapping your foot, will you?" My best friend shouted at me.
"Look, I really can't help it that I'm nervous!"
"Nervous, why?" I know she was feigning innocence.
"Oh really, you don't know?"
"Nop."
"He's gonna tell me..." My sentence was left hanging in mid-air.
"And I know all will end well." This is what I needed the most. Reassurance. Sometimes, you yourself don't know how things would end up. That makes you nervous, fidgety. But, just a little bit of reassurance is what you need to feel that confidence again.
"I hope so."
"And yeah, bring a pair of your pyjamas. We'll have a sleepover at my house to discuss all the juicy gossip."
"Okay, I'll just need to ask Har and Pete about it. Albeit, I don't know why they'll say no to it."
"Don't worry about it. I've already asked them while you were up here."
"Seems like today is going to be full of surprises."
After she was done with my makeup, I quickly went to my wardrobe to get my dress. It had been carefully placed in a bag so I had to remove it with delicate hands. Shelby had already done that with her black dress so after stripping off my clothes, I gently tugged on the red, smooth fabric. It still clung to me like second skin, that meant I hadn't gained fat in the past couple of months, which was a relief.
When I turned around, my best friend stood there with a hair curler in one hand and a hair straightener in the other.
"I suggest you curl your hair. Red looks hot with those sexy waves. I'll straighten my hair."
"Yup, perfect to me." I replied, before sitting down so that Shelby could work with my hair. However hard you try, someone else doing your hair always has better effects. As soon as my hair was done, I stood up so that she could sit down. Another fifteen minutes later, we were both ready. We had this rule going on, when both of us were dressing up together, no one was allowed to look in the mirror. Only after being fully ready, were we supposed to look at ourselves.
My mouth was left hanging open as I stared at myself. My face looked radiant, she had applied a golden shimmery eyeshadow to my eyes, which was accompanied by a winged eyeliner. My lips were a bright red colour, matching my dress. All of this would've looked a little too overbearing but there was no colour applied to my cheeks. They had been kept plain with just a hint of golden on them.
"Wow, I look so nice."
"So do I."
As I shifted my focus to her, it was then that I realised that my work had been splendid too. I had practiced the smokey eyes look a lot of times on myself so I could do it to the 'T'. She looked so ravishing, I could bet Michael would have a field day having her around. Her eyes were perfectly done and I had insisted on using a nude coloured lipstick, so that her eyes could stand out.
