Hey guys, Tanaya here. I've been meaning to update yesterday but that didn't happen so enjoy today and although I write and publish because I love it but that doesn't mean that a few votes and some comments won't help!
Jennifer's POV
High school is said to be an experience which teaches you a lot of things. We undergo our own personal highs and lows, victories and defeats but it makes us the person that is willing to take on the world.
These were my views or rather thoughts of my high school. Leaving would be emotional, most definitely. But many fellow students at school thought of it as freedom.
"Yay, we finally get to leave high school!"
"No more burdening with homework! Omg, isn't that amazing?"
All these comments only made me realize that people were so inferior and unemotional. Only two more months and we would be scouting for colleges, ready to step into the real world. Were we ready to do so? More importantly, was I ready to do so?
I had always led a sheltered life. My brothers were there for me, in every possibly imaginable condition. When our father died, stepmother would have inherited or may I say, snatched away everything if it wasn't for my father's will. I never had to step a foot in the court during the case. My brothers, Peter and Harry had everything under control. Eventually she disappeared from our lives, which I was thankful for.
But I was afraid of the fact that I would have to go away to college, away from my two knights in shining armour, or whatever it is that they call them. I was not so good with phrases.
"Hey little sissy, you decided which college to go to?"
Harry's head popped into my bedroom, asking me the question.
"I don't know. It's so confusing..."
"Let me help you out. You are going to take a major in science so search for colleges that are really good in that field."
"But even if I do so, will they accept me?"
"Jen, you are brilliant in whatever you do. Don't doubt yourself. What do you wanna do right now?"
Break up with Aaron...
"Uhmmm... I don't know, have food because I am really hungry."
"That's like a good girl, now come on, let's go down for dinner."
"Wait, you cooked dinner? Should I bring along a fire extinguisher?" I said with a horrified look on my face, trying not to laugh.
"Just because Peter and I burnt the kitchen almost a year ago when we didn't know anything about food other than how to eat it doesn't mean that we'd do the same thing now."
"Yeah, I know, it's just too funny to tease you and that's why I held on to the opportunity."
"Whatever, now come down."
"In a minute."
He went away and I sat down on my bed wondering, how was I supposed to tell Aaron about the break up? My brothers didn't like Aaron a bit. Peter and Harry would have given me a pat on the back for this decision but I didn't tell them. Telling them would only mean their expectations going up and falling down when I told them...
"No it didn't happen today. I chickened out."
Yes, I knew that it was going to happen the first time but if I kept the momentum up then maybe I would be able to say something the third or fourth time.
Maybe...
"Jennifer, what are you doing up there? Debating with yourself?" Peter called out.
