An hour later Troye was dragging Jacob through the mall towards the nail salon, eyes glowing in excitement. Jacob didn't share his excitement, the smell of the salon being one of his least favourite things, but Troye didn't seem to mind. He was bouncing on his toes as he waited to choose the colour he would get. "Troye?" Troye looked up to see a lady in a white blouse looking at him, a smile on her face. "It's nice to see you again. What are you thinking of getting today?"

"Hi," Troye replied, smiling at the woman who regularly did his nails. "I was thinking something pink, but at the same time I want it to be festive."

Loey, the nail artist, nodded. "We're barely out of November."

"As if you can judge." Troye giggled and followed her to the stand that held many different colours.

"You're right. I had my tree up a couple weeks ago and I'm decorating like crazy. I can't wait for holidays, we're going to Georgia to see my family. It's been a while."

"That sounds nice. Jacob and I are talking about going to visit some friends across the border for a few days."

"Oh, exciting!"

Their conversation continued on like this as Troye chose the colour he wanted. Loey began to work on his nails as Jacob watched from close by, enjoying the sight of his kitten getting to socialize with people outside of his little group of friends. A while later Troye hurried over to show Jacob what he had gotten done. His nails were painted a soft pink with sparkly white Christmas designs all over them.

"I love them," Jacob said, inspecting the designs closely. "Did you thank Loey?"

"I did!" Troye replied, tugging on Jacob's hand to get him out of his chair so they could go pay and be onto their next destination. "Thank you," Troye said again with a wave as they left the salon. "Where are we going next?"

"I thought we could go down to the park, walk by the water. Only if you want to, though."

"I'd love to." Troye smiled up at Jacob as they walked out to the car, exited for the day. A whole day with Jacob without the kittens was just what he needed. It had been too long.

They drove to the park and parked the car, Jacob deciding to put a leash on Troye just to make sure he didn't  get curious and run off. He was usually pretty good about it, but sometimes he got carried away. Also, some people got upset when a pet was allowed to run around in public without leashes, nekos included.

They walked along the board walk, Troye looking around excitedly. His ears were pricked forward and his tail was straight up, his eyes wide as he looked around at everyone there. There were nekos and their masters, dogs and their owners. Troye didn't like dogs, but when they were at a distance he enjoyed watching them.

He skipped along happily, the rings attached to his collar flashing in the sunlight. He had attempted to wear them on his finger, but after losing them three times Jacob decided it would be safer to just attach them to his collar since he almost never took it off.

"Ooo can we get ice cream?" Troye asked, pointing to the stand. Jacob nodded and allowed Troye to lead him towards the small shack, despite his leash manners seeming to have left completely. "Look Jay, it's Doctor Iero!" Troye said, pointing to the man that was at the ice cream shop already, a neko standing beside him, a leash attached to his collar as well.

"Don't point Troye," Jacob scolded, swatting his hand down. Troye pouted but apologized quietly nonetheless. Dr. Iero had become Troye's main doctor during his pregnancy with Riley, and Troye liked him a lot. He had never met his neko though, even though he had heard a lot about him, both from Frank and Ryan. "Hello Frank," Jacob greeted. They had become friends as well, hanging out aside from appointments.

"Hello Jacob," Frank said with a smile, shaking Jacob's hand politely. "Hello Troye."

"Hi sir," Troye said with a smile.

"This is Gerard," Frank said with a proud smile, patting Gerard's head. "Gee, this is Troye and Mr. Bixenman. Troye is a patient of mine."

"Hi," Gerard said shyly, giving Troye a tiny smile. Gerard looked like he was one of those awkward shy kitties who never really grew used to their bodies, always being a bit clumsy even as an adult. He had red hair, dyed, that he pushed behind his ear. He had hazel eyes, sort of like Jacob's, that would either follow your every move or stare shyly at the ground.

"I remember you!" Troye said with a smile, walking towards Gerard, as far as his leash would allow him to go.

"I remember you too," Gee said. His voice was much quieter than Troyes. "You were all anyone ever talked about back there."

"Mmm, I never asked for the attention though," Troye replied. "I'm sorry about what happened when I left."

"It wasn't your fault. It was ages ago anyways, lets just put it behind us."

Troye nodded in agreement, smiling at Gee. "Wanna see if we can play once our ice cream is gone? It's been a while since I had someone to play with." Gerard nodded with a big smile.

Fifteen minutes later the kitties were rolling around on the ground, not seeming to care that they were ruining their clothes in the process. They giggled almost non-stop as they pounced on each other, meowing and play hissing. Jacob and Frank sat on a bench near the edge of the grass, watching in amusement as the pair ran as hard as they could. At some point Phil showed up with Dan, and then there was three kitties in a pile on the ground, all of them panting and meowing.

By the time they had stopped all of them were panting loudly and pretty much falling asleep on the grass. Gee and Troye promised one another that they would get their owners to let them hang out again soon so they could play again before Frank led Gee  away, leaving Troye and Jacob as the last ones there. "Carry me?" Troye asked, hopping onto Jacob's back when he got a yes.

Needless to say, Troye slept through the whole movie that night.
