Twenty Four

Ryan and Troye laid on the floor in the kitchen, the tile warm beside the vent that blew hot air up and around the house. Joel had also joined them and was laying with his head on Troye's legs, purring quietly as Troye lazily rubbed his back. Jacob and Dallon were talking, Riley balanced in Jacob's arms and drinking a bottle. Everyone was rather tired due to all of the excitement and the long plane ride.

"Are you not going to go out and see the snow?" Jacob asked, looking down at the pile of nekos on the floor. Two out of three of them lazily shook their heads, not even returning the human's gaze. Joel on the other hand perked up, his ears pricking forward and his head coming up.

"Can we?" he asked quietly, yawning. He pulled away from Troye and stretched, crawling over to Jacob and sitting at his feet.

Troye whined in protest at the offer, cuddling closer to a half-asleep Ryan. "'m too tired, Joel."

"Put there's snow!" Joel said, letting out a huff of air. He got back up on all fours and crawled over to Troye, patting his tail. "We don't have snow, daddy. I wanna go see!"

"Come on Troye, let's go," Jacob said. By this time Ryan was fully awake and nuzzling Troye as well.

"C'mon, Tro. You'll like it," he said, pushing against Troye's arm with his nose. It wasn't like they had not seen the snow when they came in, why did they have to move? It was so warm. Troye shook his head and curled up into a tighter ball, meowing in surprise when he felt himself being picked up off of the floor. Ryan giggled as Jacob picked Troye up and cuddled him close, cradling him as if he was no bigger than Joel. 

"I suppose you're just my little kitten, hmm?" Jacob asked, kissing Troye's cheeks as they heated up in a blush. "I suppose I'll have to help you get ready, yeah?"

Troye peered over Jacob's shoulder to see Riley with Dallon, so he relaxed slightly. "You're right, I am your little kitten," Troye said with a playful giggle. "I suppose you'll have to get me all ready, sir."

Troye knew that Jacob's whole plan was to embarrass Troye into getting up and doing what he was told, but Troye wouldn't let that happen. The neko giggled as Jacob carried him through the kitchen to the door, Ryan and Joel right behind them. The blue eyed hybrid just held on tighter to Jacob when he tried to set him down, doing a quick move (that should not have been possible due to the small baby bump that was developing) to end up on Jacob's back. He held on tight as Jacob tried to go about getting the other two kittens ready with Ryan and Dallon's help. By the time those two were ready, Jacob was basically panting.

"You're gettin' old," Troye commented as he slid to the floor, kissing Jacob on the cheek. "I'll let you off the hook and get ready by myself."

Jacob shook his head and jokingly threw Troye's coat at him, watching as the kitty stuck his tongue out and pulled it on. Ryan did the same with his coat.

Trying to tie up Troye's boots was a challenge, as every time Jacob would move the lace Troye would try and grab it. It was like trying to put boots on a human sized cat... well, that's exactly what it was.

Finally they were done though, and they were able to go outside.

"Look how pretty!" Troye gasped, instantly happy that he had come outside. Joel looked shocked and Riley looked confused, and it made for the best picture. Jacob smiled proudly as he watched his kittens run through the knee-deep snow, giggles and rosy cheeks making him feel all warm inside. He was so proud of his family; anyone with one like his would be.

Troye chirped and the three nekos that were able to get through the snow ran around, Ryan instructing them on how to make a snowman. They were all too little to lift the snowballs up so that job was given to Jacob, but in the end they completed it and it looked wonderful.

They helped Riley push the carrot nose on before stepping back and admiring their work. "It looks so good," Jacob praised, kissing Troye, Riley and Joel and patting Ryan's head. "We need a picture now. Everyone get around it!"

Troye and Ryan sat on either side of the snowman, Joel and Riley sitting in front of it. All four of them wore huge smiles, leaning forward on their hands with their tails all up in the air and their ears pricking forward under their hats.

"You're all so adorable," Jacob gushed, his heart feeling like it was going to explode due to the love bubbling up inside of him. "I'm getting that framed. Come along now kittens, time to go inside before one of you gets sick."

Ryan meowed and Troye chirpped, and they were all on their way inside for cuddles and tea. Troye and Ryan huddled back over their vent as the hot drinks were prepared and delivered, only moving when they were done and Brendon got home. By that time it was nearing bed time though, so the two youngest kittens were tucked in while the other two 'kittens' cuddled with their masters, purring and quiet conversation the only thing heard in the room.
