T-triple update?
*two weeks later*
Troye sat on the floor with Joel, helping him get pieces of tape to place on the presents he was helping to wrap. It was nearly Christmas- the next night was Christmas Eve. To say that Troye and the boys were excited would be an understatement.
Jacob and Troye had worked out a way to take everyone Christmas shopping and get the presents home and wrapped without anyone seeing what they had gotten, which proved to be quite the task. Troye and Joel were just wrapping the last few and putting them under the tree while they waited for Jacob to get home.
The bad feeling that Troye had been experiencing just seemed to be getting worse, especially that day. Just to be safe, Jacob had made an appointment with Dr. Iero, and they were due to go after he got home.
"Done!" Joel exclaimed, hopping up and handing the present to Troye, who pulled the cap off of his pen. He messily wrote 'to: Dad from: Joel'.
"There," Troye said. "Go place it under the tree now."
Joel nodded and stood up, running over to the tree and putting it among the rest of the messily wrapped presents. "It's so pretty," Joel said, trying hard to resist the urge to bat one of the ornaments off of the tree. "I love all of the lights and sparkles and music!" he stood up and spun around, giggling before falling face first into the couch. "And it's gonna be so fun for Riley too!"
"I'm sure it will be," Troye chuckled. "Now, go get some pyjamas on, Dan will be here soon to watch you. Make sure that you don't wake up Riley though, okay?"
Joel nodded and hugged Troye before running up the stairs and into his room to get changed. Just as he disappeared around the corner, Jacob walked into the home.
"Hi Jake," Troye said, trying to pull himself off of the floor and just managing to. He yawned and walked over to Jacob, leaning against him and letting his eyes close. "Did you have a good day at work?"
"I did," Jacob replied. He sat down on an armchair and pulled Troye into his lap, the neko instantly laying down against him. "How are you feeling?"
Troye's tail flicked back and forth, another yawn leaving his mouth. "Not good," he said. "I feel worse. Lightheaded and tired."
Jacob frowned. "I'm sorry you feel that way."
"Me too."
Jacob rubbed Troye's back and kissed his hair as Joel hurried back down the stairs, his pyjamas on and a stuffed animal hanging from his hand. "Dad!" He ran over to the couch and wrapped his cast free arms around Jacob, giggling happily. He had gotten his cast off a week before, just in time for Christmas. "I missed you while you were at work."
"I missed you too, buddy." Jacob replied. He patted Joel's back and hugged him, but he was more worried about Troye at the moment. He was getting worse and worse as the days went on. More and more tired, more and more sick to his stomach and more and more lightheaded. At first Dr. Iero said not to worry, that it was just hormones or the lack of rest Troye had been getting. He recommend upping some vitamins in the hybrids diet, but despite all of that he was still feeling pretty off.
"When is Dan gonna get here?" Joel asked.
"In half an hour," Jacob said. "Have you eaten?"
Joel nodded. "Yeah, and I helped daddy clean our bowls too! He said I was very helpful."
"I'm happy to hear that."
"I helped wrap presents too! We got all of them done, and daddy and I signed the tags! I even wrote my name on mine!"
"I'm proud of you, Joel. I'm very happy to hear that you have been helping your dad while he doesn't feel well."
Joel smiled widely. "I also made a Christmas card for Dan and Mr. Phil! Let me go get it!" Joel ran off to the kitchen and returned a moment later with a red piece of paper, a messily drawn Christmas tree surrounded by presents in the background with the main focus being all of the nekos and humans all in a row. You could tell who was who- Troye was in a skirt, Dan was tall, Joel was little with curly hair and Riley was the smallest, held by Jacob who was next to Phil.
"This is so nice," Jacob praised, looking the drawing over. "They are going to love it!"
Joel was about to say thank you when there was a knock on the door, sending him into panic mode. He hurriedly hid the card under a cushion on the couch and ran to answer the door, his excited voice greeting the couple at the door.
"Alright kitty," Jacob said softly, shaking Troye from the sleep he had already fallen into. "It's time to go."
The blue eyed neko whined and nodded, standing up but waiting for Jacob to get up too. They slowly walked to the door and Jacob helped Troye put his shoes on and tie them up, grabbing his coat and purse from the hook.
"Thank you so much for doing this," Jacob said. Dan just smiled and shrugged, taking Joel's hand.
"It's no problem," the neko said before letting the kitten drag him off to play. Phil looked at Troye with a more worried expression, then at Jacob.
"I hope your appointment goes alright," he said quietly, just now realizing how bad Troye really looked.
"I'm sure it will be fine," the blue eyed neko said, leaning up against Jacob tiredly. "Everything will be fine."
