"GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME!"

Jacob winced as Troye screamed and tried to scratch at him, pulling his arm away just before Troye's nails connected with his skin. This had been going on for an hour, not counting the time Dr. Iero had spent trying to get him out earlier. Dan and Phil had come and got the kids and were watching them, even though Jacob had not wanted to leave them at a time like this. Joel, being the brave four year old he was, assured Jacob that he would be okay and that he would protect his brother.

"Troye please," Jacob said, his voice quiet. "You can't keep acting this way. You need to come out and let us check on you."

"I'm not coming out," Troye hissed in response. He was truly convinced that this was the truth, too. He had no desire to come out and face anyone. Especially not after the way he had been behaving.

Jacob was starting to get more and more frustrated. He was past the point of being sad about the way Troye was acting, it was starting to be annoying. He stood up and grabbed the chair Troye was behind, pulling it away from the wall. He had not wanted to force Troye out, but this was getting insane.

Troye hissed and puffed up his tail as his hiding spot was taken away. Jacob ignored him and grabbed him, picking him up and ignoring his snarls. "Calm down," Jacob said, sitting in the chair and holding Troye still, petting his hair.

"I'm sorry Daddy," Troye whispered, starting to calm down as he listened to Jacob's heartbeat. "I'm sorry I was so bad."

"Don't apologize," Jacob said, rocking the neko back and forth slowly. "You're okay."

"I'm not though," Troye whispered. "I'm not the slightest bit okay."

Jacob pulled Troye impossibly closer to his chest and ran his fingers through his hair, continuing to rock him as the hybrid sobbed. "Where are the boys?" Troye asked about an hour later.

"At Phil's. Don't worry about them right now, okay? Just try and relax."

Troye nodded and went back to cuddling up to Jacob, shutting his eyes. They felt dry and tired after crying so much, and the usually soft skin beneath them hurt. His heart hurt too. So did his head. Oh, everything hurt.

Troye tried to block all of that out though, trying to push all thoughts out of his mind. He listened to Jacob's heartbeat and slowly drifted to sleep, his hands gripping tightly to Jacob's shirt like they always did when he slept.

"I love you," Jacob whispered as he picked up the sleeping hybrid and laid him down on his bed, pushing his chocolatey-brown curls back from his face. He kissed Troye's forehead gently and left the room, going to find the doctor.

"He's asleep now," Jacob said to Dr. Iero when he found him. "His arm looks bruised."

"It's going to be," the doctor replied, picking up an iPad. "He tore his IV out and stayed in an uncomfortable position for god knows how long. Not to mention he bruises easily as it is."

Jacob nodded and followed the doctor back to Troye's room, standing off to the side of the door as he watched Dr. Iero gently grab ahold of Troye's arm and wipe at it with a disinfectant wipe, carefully flipping his hand over to find a new vein. He was quick to push a new needle in, Troye letting out a quiet whimper in his sleep but not reacting further.

The next thing Dr. Iero was is lift up Troye's hospital gown, checking his scar. "It's got bruising too, but he'll be fine. He's lucky, he needs to take it easy."

Jacob scoffed. "It's kind of hard to do that when-"

"I know," Dr. Iero cut him off. "If I need to, I will sedate him. He is not strong enough to be acting like that. Now, let me see your arm."

"I'm fine."

Dr. Iero narrowed his hazel eyes at Jacob, holding out his hand. "Mr. Bixenman, I would really appreciate it if you would let me see your arm. I promise I will be quick."

Jacob sighed and reluctantly let the short man take his arm, inspecting the scratches along his tan skin.

"He's got some claws on him, hm?"

"No, not really. He just knows how to use what he has well."

Dr. Iero chuckled and dabbed over the wounds with another disinfectant towel. "You should have seen me when I first got Gee. They didn't try to hurt me, they was just scared."

"Troye could be jumpy too, when I first got him. He was pretty good though, all things considered."

"That's good. Gee is still sometimes nervous, as you know, but they're doing better."

"That's good. They seem pretty sweet."

Dr. Iero smiled as he stuck a bandaid to Jacob's arm, nodding. "They are. Anyways, I'm done here. Come find me when he wakes up, I want to talk to him. And... Jacob, you're able to see your daughter if you want. You just need to ask."

Jacob paused for a moment, looking over at Troye. "When he wakes up. I'm not doing anything until he wakes up."
