The next morning, Troye crawled out from under Jacob's arm carefully, making sure not to disturb the human. He stretched before going to Ryan's room. He got up onto Ryan's bed and carefully climbed up to the sleeping neko's side, laying down next to him and cuddling close. He purred and yawned, laying his hands on his belly and slowly falling back to sleep.
"DADDY! RYAN! WAKE UP!" Joel jumped up on the bed, crawling up and sitting on Ryan, knowing that Jacob would get mad if he did so to Troye. "I wanna go see the snow again!" he said, pushing on Troye's arm.
"It'll be to cold," Ryan said with a groan, rolling over and sending Joel to the floor. The kitten shook his head, slightly shocked from being sent to the floor. He quickly recovered though and got back up, nuzzling Troye with his nose.
"Wake up," Joel whined, poking at Troye. When nothing happened Joel sighed and left the room, leaving Ryan and Troye in peace. Or so they thought.
It went from a silent to loud when all of a sudden a yellow lab ran into the room, sending Ryan and Troye running in different directions. The two older nekos hissed and meowed, backing up against the wall to get away from the dog. It was huge, it was slobbery, it was everything Troye hated all packed up into one animal.
It may have seemed like it was hours before someone came to the rescue, when in reality Dallon came into the room right after the dog, grabbing her collar and trying to drag her out of the room. Despite Dallon being insanely tall, the dog was strong enough to put up a fight. It was not like she actually wanted to hurt the hybrids, but they were confusing: they looked human but they were producing sounds that she had only heard from cats before. In her mind, it equalled the most fun thing ever.
Dallon dragged the lab out of the room after about 30 seconds, leaving Troye and Ryan to themselves once again.
"Why is there a dog here?" Troye asked, looking at Ryan with wide eyes. Ryan's brown eyes were just as wide as Troye's as he shrugged.
"I don't know! She may be Dallon's... Sir said that he wouldn't be bringing the dog here!"
They sat in silence for a while before relaxing slightly and creeping towards the door, their eyes wide and their ears forward as they listened for the dog. When they couldn't hear anything they decided it was safe and slowly opened the door, creeping out and peering around the corner. It seemed like the coast was clear, so they both ran as fast as they could through the house towards Jacob and Brendon's voices.
Troye ran over to Riley first and made sure he was okay, meowing in a conserned matter before kissing his soft hair, moving to Jacob next. He stared up at Jacob, his ears turned out and a pathetic meow falling from his lips.
Jacob chuckled and leaned down, pulling Troye up into his lap. "It's okay kitty," he said, patting Troye's bum softly. "We didn't mean to let Minnie into your room, Joel had left the door open."
Troye scrunched up his nose, glaring at Joel with one eye before cuddling his face back into Jacob's neck. "I don't like dogs."
"I know you don't."
Troye had gotten over his fear of water and baths, but he hadn't -and probably would not- get over his fear of dogs.
"At least it got you out of bed," Joel said with a shrug, earning a bit of eye rolling from Troye.

It had been a couple of hours since the whole dog incident happened, and everyone was walking down the road towards the nearest Tim Hortons. Troye was wearing a short white skirt and grey thigh high stockings, a nice, soft pink sweater on. He had lent Ryan one of the many collars he had packed, and all three hybrids that could walk on their own had leashes on. Dallon had stayed home with the dog, as he was waiting for her new owners to come get her. Minnie seemed slightly disappointed when all she got were a few dirty looks and hisses from the weird hybrids.
Brendon and Jacob were talking about music and Joel was constantly pulling at the leash, despite not knowing what was happening. Ryan looked rather upset though, which was worrying to Troye. A moment ago he had seemed happy, but as he listened to the human's talking it seemed to be pulling him more and more down.
"Ryan managed to get banned from the hospital," Brendon said casually, obviously not seeing how close to tears Ryan was. "So since he isn't allowed anymore, I had to find another person to play with me. That's how I met Dallon, he plays bass. From there we only grew closer," Brendon smiled. "I proposed to him a few weeks ago. Lucky for Ryan here, Dallon decided he likes hybrids and wouldn't mind keeping him." Brendon ruffled Ryan's hair, not saying anything to comfort him.
Joel stepped closer to Ryan when he sensed he was upset, pushing against the older neko's hand with his nose, smiling up at him when Ryan looked down. For the rest of the walk Joel stayed close to Ryan, holding onto his hand tightly.
-
"I think he may get rid of me," Ryan said quietly as Troye, Riley and him sat on a park bench, watching Joel climb up a snowbank. "I don't think he even wants me right now, he wants Dallon and I just get in the way." Ryan's honey brown eyes started tearing up, and Troye pulled him into a one armed hug.
"I'm sorry Ry," he said quietly. He had felt some tension between Ryan and Brendon, even before he arrived.
"I don't like sleeping by myself, it's cold and scary, but he wont even let me sleep in their room. And he never cuddles me and he yells at me and makes fun of me more... I just want him to love me again."
Troye didn't know what to say. He could not say that everything was okay, because it was not. "Does he ever hurt you?"
"Not physically! He would never... He just hurts my feelings sometimes and makes me sit in my room. He treats me like a stranger, you could say. I know I should complain, but the only reason I still have a home is Dallon."
"You should talk to Jacob," Troye suggested. "He knows best, I'm sure he can help."
"I don't want to make Brendon look bad."
"You wont, Brendon is making himself look bad." Troye reassured. "Don't be worried about talking to Jacob, he wont mind helping you out. And don't forget that I'll always be here for you."
Ryan half smiled, wiping the tears off of his rosy cheeks. "Thank you, Tro."
"No problem Ryan, I owe you anyways. You have always been there for me."
