Thirty Six

Troye woke up the next morning with the pain still burning. It did not matter as much to him though, he was so happy about their baby. And no one had come in to tell him that something had gone wrong, so she must have still been stable, right? He smiled. She was so pretty, and she was gonna be strong too. She was going to be just like him - able to get through the hard times and tell about them.

Troye rolled over to see if Jacob was in the room, gasping in surprise when he saw that not only Jacob was there, but also his mom, Hari and the boys. "Hey guys," Troye said quietly, catching the attention of Joel and Riley.

The two young nekos looked up and Joel hurried over to the bed, Riley clapping his hands. "Hihi!" Joel said excitedly, carefully climbing up beside Troye and cuddling down against him. "I missed you!"

"I missed you too," Troye said, kissing Joel's cheek. He chirped for Riley, who was already crawling over, making him crawl faster. He pulled himself to standing position and looked over the edge of the bed, a smile on his chubby face.

Jacob's mom walked over and picked Riley up, holding him up so Troye could reach him. "You scared us," she said, a frown on her face. "I'm so glad you're alright, though. I was so worried." She squeezed Troye's hand and he gave her a tiny apologetic smile.

"Can we go see the baby, daddy?" Joel asked, sticking his bottom lip out and looking at Troye with the biggest puppy-dog he could manage. Troye looked at Jacob and nodded, shushing Joel when he cheered excitedly.

"You have to be quiet though, alright? She will probably be sleeping, she is still growing a bit."

"Growing like she did when she was in your belly?"

Troye smiled. "Sort of."

"Oh," Joel said. "That's okay. I love my little sister anyways."

Troye giggled and kissed Joel's cheek again before Jacob helped him into the wheelchair, gently placing Riley on his lap. Joel put his hand on the arm rest of the wheelchair and kept it there as they went towards the room where the small neko was. They entered the ICU unit and Troye smiled at Gerard as he saw them standing near Dr. Iero. Their hair was dyed black, but it had teal at the roots. Their tail also appeared to be dyed, but it was just a plain black.

The hybrid whispered something to Dr. Iero and the man nodded, sending them off across the hall. "Hi," they said quietly to Troye, looking up at all of the new people with a shy expression.

"Hi!" Troye replied with a smile. "What are you doing here?"

"I just came to visit," Gee said, looking over at their master. "Frankie sometimes lets me come and bring him cookies on days that aren't super busy. Are you going to see your baby?"

Troye nodded, a smile on his face. "Yes. Joel and Riley are going to meet her for the first time."

"That's exciting," Gee said with a gentle smile.

"It is!" Joel exclaimed, tugging gently on Troye's hand. "And tomorrow is Christmas, so it's like a Christmas present!"

Troye gasped, looking up at Jacob. "I forgot it was Christmas Eve," he said.

"You've been distracted," Jacob replied with a shrug. "The boys will be here in the morning and we can open some presents with you."

"That sounds nice," Troye said as they started towards the room that the baby was in, Gee tagging along.

"You need to be quiet and gentle and quiet, okay? No touching."

Joel nodded at Troye's quiet words and hurried over to the incubator, looking in with a gasp. "She's so pretty," he said quietly, resting his fingertips against the side of the machine. "She's so little."

Jacob took Riley from Troye and walked him over to the incubator, holding him up so that he could see his baby sister. Riley giggled at the sight, reaching out towards her. "Pwetty," he said, copying Joel's previous words and making Troye grin.

"That's right!" Troye exclaimed. "She's pretty, so so pretty."

This is short and I meant to update ages ago but I couldn't remember what gee called Frank so I went to look and I got distracted lol
