Diana's POV
"AHHHHHHHHHH!" My head shot up at the scream. I ran to the window and just almost missed Faye as she disappeared into the woods in the arms of some guy.
"Faye!" I screamed and ran to the door. What am I going to do!? Oh shit, oh shit.
I made it out the front door and jumped on the off road 4 by 4, and raced down the path I watched them follow.
"Faye!" I screamed. How far could they have gone? The trail split, a literal fork in the road. I went to the right, up and over a hill.
"Faye! Can you hear me? Faye!" I saw the path open up into a clearing, breaking out of the forest, I slammed on the breaks. Standing about a football field away was a massive manor. It was exquisite, standing like an ominous monument. I suddenly felt furious, something was here, I'm just not sure what. In a flash, there was someone standing 30 yards away and slowly coming closer. I quickly threw the 4 by 4 in reverse and stood on the gas.
"Faye!" Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the person vanish, and then he reappeared right in front of me.
"AHHHHHH!" I slammed on the breaks, but he didn't move. He stood perfectly still and tall, his head held high in pride and yet curiosity. His ice blue eyes were gazing straight into my soul, but almost hidden from sight because of the dark curly locks of hair that had fallen over his sharp, angular face. His black hair came down passed his ears, falling into place. He wore all black, it made a striking contrast against his fair skin.
"I'm extremely sorry for trespassing, but I need you to move out of my way. I have to go, she needs me." I tried to make him understand, but I wasn't making much sense. He said nothing, standing as if he were a marble statue, the picture of perfection.
"I don't think you understand the gravity of this situation. I can't let you leave. Not only have we just met, I didn't have the pleasure of learning your name." The guy took a step toward me, shorting the gap. His posture was rigid in warning, to choose my next words very carefully. Instead of answering I floored the gas and shot forward, he was seconds from being ran over.
Almost inhumanly, he appeared in my rearview mirror, but following right on my tail. I raced back down the dirt road and continued to the other path, hoping it would be the right one this time. A wide stream came into view and I sped faster. Almost instantly as I reached the water, he stopped, but so did I. The 4 by 4 died in the middle of the creek, but the guy didn't touch the water. I jumped from the vehicle, and rounded to face him.
"It seems we are at an impasse, I may be unable to reach you from here but you can't leave the water without being in danger." This dude was very cold in his delivery of the news, but that was unhelpful with my anger.
"Who. On. Earth. Do you think you are? You might want to fill me in because at the moment I'm not in the mood to deal with your arrogant ass. So if you would kindly get the fuck away from me so I can find my friend, I'd be damn grateful!" I all but screamed at this wannabe stocker. Some people just make me so angry!
He stepped back, startled by my fury. His perfect face contorting into a look of pure astonishment. When I looked away, I saw water swirling around me.
"DIANA!!!" I turned around to see Faye running toward me.
She slipped on the muddy bank and fell into the water.
"FAYE!" I helped her up. "Are you okay? Wait..." I put my thumb on the bruised cut on her head making her wince. "What the HELL happened to your face?"
We heard an animalistic growl come from the path Faye left.
¨Not this Asshole again." Faye whispered.
¨What?¨ I looked toward the sound to see a guy with blonde hair standing there.
¨Aw look, the puppy is out to play.¨ The dark demon guy, aka the pain in my ass, said. Another growl came.
¨And the leeches are out during the day. Quite strange, is it not fellas?¨ The blonde hair guy said. We heard stick cracking under footsteps.
Faye and I looked at each other in horror. Who are these guys?
¨Enough talk, I am just here for the girl.¨ The demon said.
¨She is on my territory.¨ Blonde guy said.
¨Correction dog, she is on mine.¨
In an instant I felt Faye push me aside, I fell on the bank of the creek as she was held in the arms of the demon. I was immediately picked up and held back by the blonde haired boy. His left hand was placed on my shoulder as his right held my chin, a knife was pressing against my throat.
Faye's neck was bent to the left and the demon guy had his mouth open, inches away from her skin.
Faye and I were in the middle of a testosterone filled standoff.
"Let her go Arthur." The blonde hair boy all but demands. The demon shook his head and clicked his tongue.
"That, is not how this is going to work, Miles." His teeth came out in fangs, my breath caught in my throat. Faye tried to push herself out of his grip. "You have a fighter here, be a shame if she, oh I don't know." He licked his fangs. "Became one of us." Others came out of the forest, their fangs poking out.
"Arthur, you and I both know how this could go wrong," I felt the knife press harder against my throat. I could hear many growls and footsteps behind me. I saw Faye's eyes widen as she looked behind me. Our eyes met, and she knew what I was thinking. In an instant she had rammed her elbow into Arthur's head , right as I slammed my foot down on Miles's bare foot. Catching the boys off guard, Miles dropped his knife and Arthur stumbled back.
Faye and I ran toward the creek, with each side chasing us. I felt fury and anger fill me. I screamed in rage and threw my hands up in the air. The people around us flew back, some hit the ground and others hit the trees. I felt weak, my body giving out. Faye caught me before I fell down, my weight had caught her by surprise, Faye's top half landed on Arthur's side. In a flash I saw a bloody silver knife on the ground. Faye screamed in pain, she clutched her shoulder as she fell over on Miles' side. I watched as she fought back the tears. Miles pulled her out of the creek and placed a piece of cloth on her shoulder. She looked like she was getting weaker by the second. Miles carried her with one hand as the other held pressure on her wound.
I felt myself being lifted up as I was carried away, bridal style. My head rolled to the side and rested against Arthur's broad chest.
"Diana!" Faye shouted as she went into the woods, I couldn't see her.
"Faye!" I tried screaming, "Bring her back you ass. That's my best friend!" I slammed my hands into his chest. "Turn around! NOW!" I grew weaker. I could hear Faye fighting Miles.
"I can't leave her! She's with some crazy ass stalker!" Faye's shouts started to fade.
"Take me back to my best friend." I commanded, my voice growing softer.
"She's with them now, she is no longer your 'friend." Arthur spoke simply as we went further into the woods.
I felt all my energy drain out of my body, leaving me swimming in darkness.
