what a foolish heart i have,
so desperate to love
that every time there is an inkling
of feelings for someone,
it shouts to my head that i'm in love.
what a foolish heart i have,
making me love everyone wholeheartedly.
what a foolish heart i have,
making me fall so easily.what a foolish head i've got,
tearing down every suggestion of love -
suppressing, repressing, compressing.
what a foolish head i've got,
holding me back and keeping me quiet
building walls and making gates.maybe i'm in love
maybe i'm in love
but the doubt is overwhelming
and the walls have closed up
(what a foolish head i've got,
letting some of my heart's ideas slip past
the doors.)
