Lame title, I know.
Hiccup woke up in the morning expecting to be in pain but instead discovered that Mildew was nowhere to be found. He sat up and immediately regretted the decision. A pain like he'd never before experienced ran through his head.
He groaned, clutching his head.
He looked around for Toothless, desperate to see his best friend.
Toothless wasn't there.
Panicking, he tried to remember the day before and it all came flooding back to him.
Astrid had taken in Toothless.
Feeling bothe relieved and sad, he pulled himself off the floor and grabbed his bag.
He pulled on the warm green sweatshirt Astrid had given him the day before and crept down the stairs, hoping he could make it out without getting caught by Mildew.
No such luck.
"Where ya goin' boy?" A voice growled from the other room.
Cringing inwardly, he turned around. "School." He stated, trying not to upset Mildew.
"Ya not goin' anywhere." He seethed, mad for reasons unknown to Hiccup.
"I'm pretty sure I am." He retorted, heading for the door.
"Hiccup! Get back her boy!" He yelled, leaping towards him as he slipped out the door and onto the street.
He walked as quickly as he possibly could without running away.
As he made his way to school, someone pulled up beside him.
"Hey, man!" Tuffnut clucked from inside his car. "Need a ride?"
"I'm good, thanks." He muttered, continuing to walk as Tuff drove slowly next to him.
"Aw, c'mon man!" He pleaded.
Hiccup rolled his eyes and got in Tuff's car.
"Just be glad my sister isn't here. Man, she hates you."
"Great. I've never even talked to her and she already hates me. I didn't know I had that great of a reputation." He mumbled.
"Yeah, you do. Anyway, we would be carpooling but she's all mad at me for being friends with you and stuff." He said happily as if it didn't affect him at all.
"Then why are you still friends with me?" Hiccup asked, slightly suspicious.
"If there's one thing I've learned from having a girl for a sister it's that they never ever make any sense."
"So you're just going to ignore your sister, hope that she gets over it, and in the meantime not talk to her?" He inquired.
"No, of course not. That would be stupid. I'm going to pretend like everything's fine, quite obviously." He said placidly.
"That sounds like a horrible idea."
"I know."

Astrid had no car, and neither Paradox nor Heather could take her to school.
She even tried Ruffnut, even if Astrid just met her, but she said she didn't have a ride since her brother had taken their car.
She walked to the bus stop, angry with her car, her parents, her friends, and decided to throw Hiccup into the lot, too.
The bus pulled up and she chose a seat in the very back of the smelly, disgusting bus. Unfortunately, she had to sit next to someone.
Even more unfortunately, it was a kid who quite obnoxiously had told her he liked her more than once.
Snotlout.
A good friend, but you were in trouble if he liked you.
She was in trouble.
"Hey, Astrid." He purred, scooching closer to her.
"Back off, Snot." She hissed.
"What would be the fun in that?" He asked innocently scooching even closer.
She looked around for some way to escape him, but all the other seats were taken.
As the bus pulled up to its next stop, she got an idea.
"See you later, Snot." She squealed, running towards the front of the bus as it pulled up.
She shot out like a rocket, down a street that wasn't on the route and heading for school.
She'd rather walk than have to ride with Snotlout.
(A/N: Snotlout isn't a bad guy, he's just crazy about Astrid so he acts weird.)
As she stormed down the street, she heard a car pull up near her.
"Need a ride?" A joyous voice asked.
She glanced over.
"Tuffnut???" She questioned.
"And Hiccup!" Tuff exclaimed, leaning back so she could see him in the passenger's seat.
"I'll pass." She said, and continued to walk.
"What is it with you people and your humility? I'm offering you a chance to get out of the cold and you're declining?"
"Sorry, Tuff, I just can't be seen going to school with the outcast." She muttered, starting to walk again.
She glanced at Hiccup to see the hurt in his eyes before it was wiped quickly away into a stony expression.
"Aw, Astrid, that's a little harsh, I mean, what did he--"
"Leave it, Tuff. She'd rather freeze to death than be seen with me. you won't be able to change that. Once Ms. Popular, always Ms. Popular." She could clearly see that Tuff didn't understand the last part, so she knew it was meant for her.
Tuff seemed to get that his friend wanted to leave, so he gave Astrid an apologetic smile before rolling up his window and pulling away down the street.
She sighed. If only life were easy.
She turned forward and walked down the street towards school.
