FROSTY THE SNOWMAN!!!!!!!

I Thought that I should mention the season, for lack of a better word, of this book. It takes place in September but because I feel like it, the school starts at the end of September, which makes it closer to the holidays! Yay!

I kind of wanted to make a Christmas-y/Snoggletogg-y/Kwanzaa-y/Hanukkah-y chapter in time for Christmas/Snoggletogg/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah, but there's no way I'm going to be able to finish writing all of the stuff that leads up to it.

So, I shall just be festive in the part that people never read.

JOLLY HOLIDAYSSSS!!!!!

Hiccup couldn't sleep. He decided that he needed to get out of the toxic fumes that surrounded him so he grabbed his bag and phone and jumped out the window. He landed on a tree and climbed down it skillfully.

He put his earbuds in and scrolled down his music, hitting Don't Look Down and taking off at a jog heading for nowhere and everywhere at once.

~

Astrid's parents still weren't back yet.

It was around midnight and she couldn't go to sleep.

Stormfly was snuggled into her doggy bed, but Toothless was bounding around no matter how much she tried to tell him to go to sleep.

She decided that he needed a walk, so she found an old leash of Stormfly's and hooked up Toothless.

It was freezing outside. Astrid put on the warmest clothes she owned, hoping that it would be enough to protect her.

She stepped out into the sharp air and decided that in order to tire out Toothless faster, she should run. Astrid and Toothless set off jogging.

After she had been jogging for a while, she slowed down to a walking speed.

She pulled out her phone and checked to see if she had gotten any texts from my parents, but no word.

She was about to put her phone away when she ran into something and was knocked down onto the cold, wet sidewalk.

"Hey!" She glared up at the figure before her.

"Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry!" He panted, a little out of breath.

He sounded really familiar.

"Wait, Hiccup? What are you doing out here?" She asked, slightly confused.

"Astrid?" He looked equally as confused.

"What are you doing out here?" I repeated.

"I could ask you the same question." He threw back.

"Toothless needed a walk." She said, looking down at the energetic mutt.

"Oh."

"Now what are you doing out here?" She queried.

He sighed. "I couldn't sleep."

"Okay. But what about the real answer?" She prompted.

"My dad was having a party." He mumbled, looking... embarrassed? In all the years she'd seen Hiccup snarky and sarcastic, she couldn't understand why he would choose this to be embarrassed about.

"My parents have had parties, too. So what? I've been able to go to sleep." She prodded, still not buying into his story.

"Yeah, well my dad isn't like your parents. While you live in your nice house with polite parents and your soft bed to sleep on, I have my hard floor and screaming father! You can't think you know everything because you may have experienced something similar in your wonderful pompous life! You know nothing about what the world really is. Don't expect to be able to read me by talking to me for a little over 2 hours, Ms. Popular. Don't think that you know me. You don't and you never will!" He raged, turning on his heel and storming away.

She paused for a second, dumbfounded. What was the big deal? She didn't get this kid.

She ran to catch up with him and grabbed his arm.

He ripped it out of her grasp like she had burned him and glared at her. "Leave me alone."

"I want to know what's going on, I want the truth." I demanded, looking into his eyes.

(You want the truth? You want the truth?? You can't handle the truth!!!)

"You don't care. Nobody cares. You're just here for some ulterior motive to prank me or something like the rest of your friends do! Leave me in peace!" He snapped, trudging away.

She blinked and then turned mad. "It's too bad. I was actually starting to think that you weren't such a bad guy. I guess I was wrong."

As Astrid turned away, she saw Hiccup stumble a few paces, then continue walking. She paused, watching him. He did it again, except this time, he almost fell forward.

"Hiccup?" She called, confused by his movements.

He had stopped walking.

She cautiously walked towards him to find that he was holding his forehead in his hands.

"Are you alright?" She gently touched his shoulder.

"Just peachy." He replied though it was weak and uneven, clearly showing the exact opposite.

She came around in front of him and looked closer; only to realize that there was blood seeping through his hands.

"You're bleeding!" She shrieked.

"Am I? I hadn't noticed." He snarked.

His sarcastic remarks couldn't hide the fear in his voice.

"Hiccup, that looks serious."

"I'm never serious."

"Hiccup. Don't."

He was about to say something when he groaned and fell forward, right towards Astrid. She managed to catch him and hold him up, but he certainly wasn't helping her in any way.

She pulled him over to a city bench and sat him down.

"Hiccup, what's going on? How did you get that?" She worried.

"Relax, Ms. Popular. My dad's counter just wanted to give my forehead a high-five." He answered though it sounded weak.

She frowned. "Your dad."

"Yup. And if you'd be so kind, I'd like to get back before he realizes that I'm gone before things get ugly." He shrunk into the bench, clearly not having the strength to get up.

"And how do you expect to get up?" She raised an eyebrow.

"With your help." He sighed, realizing that he couldn't get home on his own.

"Exactly." She triumphed.

"I could get home if I wasn't so light-headed." He mumbled, looking defeated.

"I'm sure you could." She rolled her eyes.

"Alright, let's go." She told him, and she helped him get home with Toothless bounding happily at their side.

~~

"Go to bed. School tomorrow, yeah?" She told him as they said their goodbyes.

"Yeah. Thanks, Astrid."

He climbed through his window and layed down, instantly falling asleep.
