I updated my other stories.
Yup, that's my excuse.
Oh, and also there's another trailer on Netflix for RTTE.
Enjoy!!!
It turns out Astrid's idea of a fun time was blasting a strange type of music while playing Twister and channel surfing.
At first, Hiccup had immediately shot down the idea because he felt horribly uncomfortable about the whole ordeal. But, of course, Astrid had insisted.
"You're worried about Toothless, and there's no better way to forget about your worries then to participate in an abnormally close game with a total stranger!" She grinned, taking her attention off of him to flip through channels.
He cast her an uncertain glance which she caught out of the corner of her eye.
"Oh, come on, Hiccup!" She whined.
He frowned.
"I know you're upset about Toothless, and that's fine! Almost losing your best friend in the whole world... blah blah blah... But there comes a time when you need to forget about it and just move on! He'll be fine, and there's nothing you can do right now."
He relented, giving a small nod of his head.
Astrid grinned, dashing off down the hall a returning with Twister, Stormfly at her heels.
"You've played this before, right?" She questioned.
He didn't say anything.
"Who hasn't played Twister?" She asked, mainly to herself.
While explaining the rules to him she spread out the mat and thrust the spinner into his hands.
"I'm not comfortable with this." He mumbled. After receiving a death glare from Astrid he spun the spinner.
"Right foot green." They both put their feet on green, Hiccup staying as far away from Astrid as he could manage.
"Left hand blue."
"Left foot red."
"Left hand green."
The game continued until they had both gotten themselves into a very uncomfortable position.
Hiccup was grinning a lopsided smile, thoughts of Toothless temporarily leaving his mind.
Finally, Astrid pushed Hiccup over and claimed her victory.
"No fair." He grumbled, pulling himself to his feet as Astrid laughed.
"Alright, alright. Let's try something else."
He frowned and flopped on the couch.
"Pass." He grumbled.
She opened her mouth to say something more, but was interrupted yet again by Hiccup's phone ringing.
He frowned at the screen. Before he could ignore it, Astrid nosily snatched it out of his hand. He jumped up after her, ready to take it back, but Astrid stopped him.
"Come on, Hiccup. Tuff cares about you. Please?" She asked.
He sat back down on the couch, refusing to acknowledge her. She sighed and threw it back at him.
He stood up.
"I'd better get going, Astrid. Don't wanna get in more trouble than I'm already in." He stated, turning and heading for the door.
She looked after him. She'd actually been having fun, but he'd grown distant.
He opened the door, glanced back at her, and then vanished into the freezing night.
He'd made it most of the way before sleet began to thunder out of the sky.
He made it to his house, shivering by the time he did.
He opened the door to find a group of rather angry looking middle-aged men. The leered at him and began to advance on him.
"You're late, boy." Mildew snarled.
He cast his eyes down, shrinking back as he waited for a blow.

Astrid sighed as Hiccup left, knowing that there was nothing she could do to get him to stay.
She pulled out her phone and saw a text from Ruff. She was smiling and waving at the screen.
Astrid sighed and spent a little bit texting her friends before deciding to get out of the house. She put on her coat and boots and stepped out into the cold air.
It was horribly cold, and Astrid hoped that Hiccup had gotten home safely.
She decided she'd just walk by his house, she didn't know why. If Hiccup was there he'd be inside. She picked up her pace as sleet started to fall from the sky. She pulled her hood tight over her head.
She entered the lower-middle-class part of town, not exactly in ruins but definitely not the nicest houses in Berk. Her thoughts drifted to Hiccup as she neared his house, to find him huddled on the welcome mat, shivering from the cold.
~
Once he had arrived home, Hiccup hadn't been given the welcome that others might receive.
Instead, half of Mildew's friends held him down, kicking and screaming, while the other half beat the living shit out of him.
It started with punches, then kicks, then cigars and a couple knives. The knives and cigars lasted as long and were much more painful, he thought that's why they saved it for last.
Once they'd had their drunken fill, they threw him back out into the sleet. He landed with an audible crack and he groaned loudly. He waited until they were done screaming at him to pull himself achingly up off the cement walkway and stumbling towards the door.
He wouldn't go back inside, that was just crazy, he would sit against the door, hoping for some protection from the freezing rain and scraps of warmth that might leak through the door. It might be enough to keep him from completely freezing, though he knew his chances were slim. He was starting to wish he hadn't left Astrid's.
Beginning to shiver, he curled in on himself, ducking his head between his knees and waiting for the distant hours of morning to arrive.
After what felt like hours but could only have been a couple of minutes, he heard something that he definitely didn't expect to hear.
"Hiccup?"
I cut this one short, but a new one will be out soon.
