I know I left you with a cliffhanger, so I'll get right to it.
Enjoy!
"Snotlout!" Tuff yelled as the wave drew nearer.
Snotlout was running as fast as he could, but no one was sure whether or not he would make it in time.
The ugly green wave with the looming hideous creature was advancing quickly towards the beach, ready to wreak havoc on anyone who was still in the water.
Unfortunately, someone was, and they weren't making it back to the shore in any sort of timely fashion.
The wave bowed down, it's wrath taunting Snotlout as he waded the water as quickly as he could, fearing for his life.
The shark was a great motivator, though.
It took several moments for the wave to hit the sand, but once it did, it shot out towards land like a rocket.
The wave went even farther than predicted, Hiccup and the rest that used to be on the shore were no ankle-deep in water - which meant bad news for Snotlout.
Everyone was running towards shore that wasn't very far away, but Snotlout was waist-deep and it was harder for him to wade through. He was moving what would be quickly on land, but in water, it looked like he was moving in slow motion.
He was too close to swim but far enough out that he was in danger.
"Snotlout, come on!" Astrid yelled.
"I'm going as fast as I can! Where is it?" He shouted.
Everyone was eerily quiet as they looked around.
Hiccup saw it.
"There!" He shouted, pointing toward a dark shape moving fluidly through the water.
It was headed straight for Snotlout.
"Snotlout it's coming for you!" Fishlegs yelled.
Tuff battle-cried and ran into the water, close to where Snotlout was struggling.
"Tuff what are you doing?!" Hiccup yelled.
"Trying to confuse it!" He yelled back.
In a moment of panic, Hiccup glanced towards Astrid and they both stopped for a second, looking at each other.
Then Hiccup sighed.
He ran out into the water after his friend.
"Tuff, you're gonna get killed out here!" He yelled, still looking for where the shark went.
"It's still following Snotlout! What do we do?"
"Snotlout's almost to the beach. We get out of the water. Now!" Hiccup said forcefully, trying to convince Tuff.
Tuff looked desperately around, then pointed.
"There it is!" He yelled, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Screams came from the beach, and Hiccup heard Astrid's voice.
"Hiccup! Tuff! Get out of the water! NOW!"
He was surprised she'd say that out loud, but then again, he doubted anyone else could really hear her over the panicked screams.
Hiccup looked into the water as the shark made it's approach on both of them, ready to tear them to pieces.
"It's coming toward us, Tuff!" He looked at his friend to see the fear in his eyes.
By now Snotlout was safely on shore.
The shark was just too fast.
"Tuffnut!" He yelled and looked into the water. The shark was no more than a yard from them.
Hiccup and Tuff shared one last look before the beach erupted in the most painful scream you'd ever heard, and the water turned a murky red.
I gave you a short update so that way I could do ANOTHER cliffhanger!
What happened?
Who screamed?
More to come later!
