1,000 reads! Woohoo!
I cannot tell you all how much this means to me! Thank you all so much!
It just occurred to me that the first 15 chapters have been about the span of 2 days.
Hang on, folks. This book may be longer than I intended.
On another note, MY SCHOOL'S CLOSED BECAUSE IT'S FALLING APART!!! YAY!!!
SUPER LONG CHAPTER BECAUSE OF ALL THE THINGS MENTIONED!!!
But alas, DreamWorks.
NO RTTE???!!!
REGULAR SIZED CHAPTER FOR LACK OF RTTE!!!!
Small note, please keep in mind that this is only 2 days, and I have been focusing mainly on Astrid. Thus, I haven't mentioned everything about Hiccup.
Enjoy!!!
Everyone had to go to school the next day, and even the kids that weren't at the beach were buzzing about the incident.
As Astrid walked down the hall whispers followed her.
She caught up with her friends, still angry but deciding not to show it.
"What's going on? Why are all these people whispering about me?"
"It's not just you, trust us. Our entire group is getting whispered about. I did hear some people talking about you, though, and everyone's surprised that you went to help the school nobody. They thought that it was so heroic, you're more popular now than ever!" Paradox exclaimed.
"Everyone is judging Snot, though. They don't understand why he wouldn't get out of the water."
Snotlout came down the hall and Astrid could hear the snickers coming from everywhere.
"Leave me alone!" Snotlout yelled to a kid; probably Gustav.
"Snot, I can't believe you did that! I totally would have done the same thing, though." Definitely Gustav.
Astrid turned her attention back to Ruff.
"Is Tuff here today?" She asked the female twin.
"Yeah, but he's on crutches." She explained, pointing down the hall to Tuff.
As he went by, kids moved out of his way and came together again, it was the weirdest phenomenon she'd ever seen.
Then she saw something she really hadn't expected.
Hiccup was pushing his way through the crowd following Tuffnut, trying to catch up with his friend.
Why was he here?
He finally caught up to Tuff, walking alongside his friend.
Tuff stopped next to the girls to talk to his sister, he must have forgiven her.
Hiccup stopped, too, refusing to meet Astrid's eyes.
His face was still as pale as yesterday, and his hands were shoved deep into his pockets.
She felt a twinge of guilt, knowing that it was her fault. Nevertheless, they were at school. She would never, ever, ever be seen by all her peers talking to him. She couldn't. This was her year. She'd gotten perfect grades, attended as many recreational activities as possible, and made friends with almost everyone. She was getting prom queen, no matter what.
Tuff wrapped up his conversation with his sister, giving Astrid a death glare before walking away with Hiccup.
They all decided to go to class, she had science with Ruff first.
