Hiccup's mind was foggy as he thought about his friend crumpled on the ground.

He marched onto the field, jaw clenched and eyes set.

Dagur took off his helmet and sneered at the boy as he stopped in front of him, his scrawny shape no match for Dagur's buff exterior.

Dagur was about to say something when Hiccup brought his fist back and slammed it into Dagur's jaw.

Dagur yelped in pain, stumbling back and clutching his jaw.

"What the hell???"

"Dagur!!!" Heather yelled, trying to run out to her brother.

Astrid held her back.

"You little piece of shit!!!" Dagur snarled, whirling towards Hiccup.

Hiccup's eyes narrowed. Time had slowed down. He was calculating.

Dagur threw a punch as hard as he could and Hiccup sidestepped, grabbing Dagur's arm and yanking it, causing him to fall forward.

Dagur scrambled up quickly, beginning to circle.

Hiccup followed suit, the tension in the air thick enough to cut a knife.

Dagur had gained control and he was ready for a fight.

He swung again, this time accounting for Hiccup's counterattack.

When Hiccup sidestepped again, Dagur swung his leg out, causing Hiccup to trip and fall backward.

Hiccup landed on his back and didn't even have time to blink before Dagur landed on top of him, swinging his fist down directly onto Hiccup's face.

The blow made Hiccup's vision burst into a sheet of white, completely obscuring his vision.

He felt a sharp pain again hit his face, but it hardly registered. His mind was starting to go numb. Pulling together all his strength, he focused his vision and swung his fist at Dagur. Dagur froze, and Hiccup used the opportunity to roll away, getting back on his feet. Dagur lunged forward stopping just short of Hiccup, wrapping his arm around Hiccup's throat and beginning to suffocate him.

Astrid, who had been watching from the sidelines, knew she had to do something.

She ran out into the field, which seemed to break every one of their trance.

Heather followed Astrid, and between the two of them they managed to pry Dagur off of Hiccup.

Hiccup fell to the ground, gasping for breath.

Astrid knew Dagur wasn't finished, but she knew that she wouldn't let him do anything to Hiccup.

Dagur lunged forward and Astrid caught him, throwing him back to where he had been standing.
