IT'S TOTALLY GOOD BUT REALLY DEPRESSING!

(It'll get less depressing... Eventually...)

Astrid's parents came out, ready to collapse on the couch.

They forgot about the two teens who had made themselves at home.

They looked at the couch to see them together, sleeping. Her mother looked to her step-father, at a loss for what to do. She decided to gently shake them both awake.

Hiccup opened his eyes slowly, feeling a warmth radiating right next to him. He looked up to find Astrid's parents looking down at him.

He bolted upright, swaying slightly.

Astrid was beginning to stir, but she wasn't going fast enough.

"What were you doing?!" A considerably large man with jet black hair snarled.

"I-I didn't--"

"Get out of my clinic!" He seethed.

Astrid finally woke up, just in time to see Hiccup try to explain himself.

"Sir, please. I-I didn't do--"

"Get. Out." He snapped.

Hiccup was frozen in terror as the big man advanced.

He didn't get very far.

"Subs, what are you doing? Stop it! Hasn't he been through enough?" Astrid asked, moving in between her step-father and the auburn-haired boy.

"Astrid, move out of my way."

She stood firm until her mother piped up. "Knock it off, Subs. If Astrid trusts him, we let her make her own decisions. Why don't you two go back to our house? It's been a long, day. We'll stay here and clean up."

Astrid nodded, grabbing Hiccup's arm and pulling him out of the room.

She practically dragged him, since he was still basically frozen.

On her way out she saw Gobber at the front of the clinic.

"Where ya goin', lassie?"

"Hiccup and I are gonna head over to my house."

"Oh, well, it was nice meeting you, laddie. I'll see ya later Astrid."

"Bye Gobber!" Astrid said, pulling Hiccup out the door and down the hall towards the elevator.

She pressed the button and stepped inside.

Once the door was closed she turned to Hiccup.

"Sorry, Hiccup. Subs isn't known for his... friendliness. I hoped you weren't too freaked out."

He said nothing.

"Oh, come on, Hiccup."

Still nothing.

Halfway through the elevator ride, Hiccup yelped and shrunk into a ball on the floor. Astrid jumped, looking towards Hiccup.

"Hiccup? Are you okay?"
