Chapter 5

I woke up the next morning a bit refreshen. Masaya akong naghanda ng gamit going to school. Today I'll be wearing our regular uniform which is a white polo shirt then blue pants. Maliligo na sana ako ng biglang bumukas ang kwarto ko. With my towel in hand I turned around and saw my mom, she's wearing a floral dress. Hindi pa siya nakakapag- make up but her beauty or should I say Filipina charisma is still there.

"Ma? Bakit po?" magalang kong tanong sa kanya.

She gestured to me na to come beside her. Sumunod naman ako pero nagulat ako ng bigla niya akong yakapin.

"Baby? Were your first day okay, weren't you?" malambing na tanong niya though I still heard worry on her tone.

I hugged her back and medyo lumayo sa kanya to kiss her forehead. Hindi kasi katangkaran si mama typical Filipina na 5' ang height. Actually sa kanya ko namana yung kaliitan kong height for a guy. I'm just 5'7, siguro sa tingin niyo matangkad na yun noh? Pero kung makikilala niyo lang si Dad, nako nakakapanliit. Si Dad kasi ay 6'2 pang-model at basketball player ang height namana niya kina Lolo Juancio na may dugong Spaniard. Di lang si Dad pati na din yung mga pinsan ko. Mataas din sila kaya ako lang yung pinakamaliit.

I smiled genuinely to her and said,

"It was great. I miss school, you know." I said.

Ngumiti naman si mama and tip-toe to kiss my cheek.

"Oo nga eh, you're the only human being that I know who loves school."

Napangisi lang ako.

"Syempre maiba naman di ba." medyo natatawa ko pang sabi.

She just shook her head and told me to get ready for school.

I nodded and about to go to the bathroom when mama spoke.

"Are you happy?"

Napahinto ako sa pagbukas ko ng pinto ng bathroom then turn around to smile at her.

"Yes." After I said that ay lumabas na siya sa kwarto. Ako naman ay itinuloy na yung paliligo ko.

When I finished all the necessary things that I do in the morning ay pumunta na ko ng kitchen. Nandoon na sina mama and papa. Si papa is a successful businessman kaya usually he's wearing a suit while mama like I said before is a doctor kaya di naman too formal yung suot niya. Papa is already seated sa usual sit niya then mama is preparing the food on the table.
