Just A Child

She was just a child, actually a toddler

She was pushed into a life of chaos without any consent

She was just a few years young, but her eyes were older than they should've been

Every single limb pulled apart in different directions as she tried to figure out how to be human

Lost in that process, she just tried to live the life she was assigned

It was normal to be hurting and scared of everyone

Being angry when sad was just a normal strategy

Nobody wanted to mess with the child that looks like she could kill

Weakness was a death sentence written in every lawbook

She was just a child and living the life she was assigned

Nothing wrong

Nobody trusted people either way nowadays

Hate her, drown her, make her smaller

She had always hated that part of life

Alienate her, terrorize her, make her afraid of loud voices

That's just life

She named her imaginary friend Fear

Teach her how to hide and how to keep forgiving

She would never get enough of those traits

Take her mind into your own hands and shape it the way you want

Keep breaking her

She was just a scared child but it was all normal

A very skillful child, she knew how to make herself crawl into tight spaces

She forgot how to be a child and jumped way too many years ahead

Such a brilliant mind

Couldn't trust because they would just break her

It was the way life was

Completely normal

Then one day, when she wasn't a child no more, one thing occurred to her

None of this was normal at all
