Let It Happen

Let the light strike me down.

Let the car drive me over.

Let its light capture me, leaving me paralyzed as I whisper my last words.

I hear the tires squeal, they’re almost screaming.

My eyes are closed.

Let the driver get scared.

Let me get pulled away from life, in one silent move.

Watching the light or the dark entangle itself in my vision.

My heart slowly stops beating and my breath is just a distant memory.

Hearing them cry.

I wish to scream.

But I can't.

Let me feel pain, but only for a slight moment before the numbness begins.

Whatever is waiting, I hope it's good.

Let my eyes fill with fear as I watch its lights and only its lights, getting closer to me.

I hear, but not for long.

I see, but not for long.

I taste, but not for long.

I feel, but not for long.

I smell, but not for long.

Let my soul get ripped off this chest.

Let it escape through my tired eyes.

Let my memories only exist in other people's minds and dusty photos.

Let me, live another life.
