The Future

I'm deciding my future

Writing down the constellations to follow

And I'm scared

But I can't be scared, I will be more scared if I'm not prepared

So I'm writing down the constellations to follow and hoping for the right conditions of weather when the time eventually arrives

The future feels so far away and anything can happen

The past never changes but the future can

Every step I take is a step closer there

I gotta write down the constellations to follow so when I get to the point and it's dark all around in the unknown land, I'll know which steps to take

I'll write them down, so when my light finally goes out, I can just look up

I won't need a guide, I'll just have to trust myself and follow those constellations I wrote down

My thoughts circle around the future and how it will be

How will the stars look in comparison to the ones I wrote down in paper?

How will they look when I finally get to see them, if I get to?

Yes, I'm scared but I will be more scared if I don't come prepared

Did anyone tell you stars are only visible in darkness?
