Girls

I devout this to girls

Girls who has kept a quiet, shy voice and pulls back into their shell

Girls that have been taught they're much less than their brother and should cut themselves into a pretty little flower, preventing their roots to start growing

Girls that have insecurities in their every cell and aren't used to say their opinion, only quietly nod

Girls that are so much more, but don't know it

Those that are slowly letting the candle light in them become larger

Girls that are afraid, so very afraid

But also the girls with infernos in their hearts and with defiance as their eye colour

Those girls that are done and now living for themselves, to everyone else's discomfort

The girls that stand in the front line as people fire bullets at their sisters to protect them

Those girls with magnificent stories, but never once recognized

The girls that refuse maltreatment and stand their ground

The girls that are labeled as too much

Girls that have fought for their right to be called girls

Every girl that fear holding their loved one's hand in public

To all the girls that have been abused, used and attempted to be put out like a cigarette

All the girls, no matter what's your story and where you are now, I wish you the best of days
