I know its short but this is where everything is explained

As the door slammed closed from the top of the stairs, Jase slowly turned around facing me.

“How do you know him?” he asked me.

“we’re… allies” I said choosing the word I chose carefully, we weren’t friends because we double cross each other all the time, and we weren’t enemies because we didn’t hate each other, we just occasionally tried to kill each other every once in a while.

“Allies” he repeated, somehow the word sounded worse coming from his mouth then it did from mine. I could tell that was wasn’t happy, I'm sure in the next few minutes I would know why.

“Allies” I breathed. Was that the right word? We were sort of like Jack Sparrow and Will Turner. That’s the kind of relationship we had, and I cannot believe I just used Pirates of the Caribbean for a reference. I would laugh but Jase was giving me the stare down so I just stuck to laughing inside my head and biting my lip to keep from smiling.

“Why did he call you Eli?” he asked, I went around and sat in Cameron’s chair.

“My name is Eliza Kayden Daniels” I told him looking up at his face, he sat down in the chair I had been in across from me.

“Why didn't you tell me before?” he asked.

“you never asked” I replied shrugging.

“Anything else I should know?” he asked searching my face for what I'm not sure. Yes. God Yes. There is ton of stuff you should know. But I'm not going to tell you.

“no” I replied, looking down to Jase’s hands that were laying on the table, I could lie to any alpha looking them straight in the eye, but I trusted Jase and he was an alpha, so I couldn’t lie.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

I stayed silent “yeah” I replied looking at the table, anywhere but Jase’s face, especially his eyes.

“How much blood do you have on your hands?” he asked me quietly, I looked up at him. I can't go back now, the question has been asked, I am fucked 7 ways to Sunday.

I took in a deep breath, and I looked into Jase’s eyes “A lot” I answered. Jase couldn’t get mad at me for killing people, he was alpha he had blood on his hands too. He may not have killed them with his own hands, but he had given the order.

“How many?” he asked.

“I don’t know” I lied.

“you don’t forget something like that Kayden” he told me.

“46” I answered almost in a whisper. I didn’t regret it though. I've never killed an innocent person, and I don’t plan to in the future. Everyone I have killed there has been a damn good reason.

“what happened?” he asked, I sighed I leaned back in my chair and laid my head back and closed my eyes.

“I was living with my dad, my mom had found her mate and we never agreed on anything we always fought and had yelling matches. He was the beta, and I was the only one who ever disrespected him but he never laid a hand on me. The first day I met him I told him if he ever laid a hand on me or my brother or my sister that I would kill, I promised him that. He didn’t take me seriously because I was a little girl and couldn’t do him any harm, I eventually left when I was 14 and went to my dad’s. My dad was also a beta, but he hadn’t found his mate yet it was just him and me for a little while.
