Chapter Thirty One-Unedited

When I woke up something didn’t feel right. I was on high alert because the last time something didn’t feel right someone threatened my mate. I sat up, Kayden was still sleeping, I looked her over taking my time looking for any injuries and just appreciating her soft tan skin. Unfortunately the sheets were wrapped around everything I wanted to see.

I looked back around the room and then checked the clock, it was about 11. I got up and pulled boxers and basketball shorts on. I left an unsettling feeling in my stomach; I didn’t want to leave my mate. I went to the kitchen.

I heard Kayden’s growl and a loud thump, I don’t think I’ve ever ran as fast as I did getting back to my room.  Kayden was somehow magically clothed in basketball shorts and a t-shirt with a bra and panties. She was on the floor on her knees, her knee stuck in some rogue’s neck, pulling his arm in a painful position. His nose was bloody and broken, she probably punch him judging by the blood on her knuckles. A surge of pride ran through me. My mate could take care of herself.

She looked over at me “Who the hell is this guy?” she asked me. I mind linked Jordan to come get him.

“Did he threaten you?” I asked her looking down at him.

“Of course I threatened her” he replied. She shoved her knee into his neck upwards, a few sickening crunches sounded. He cried in pain when she broke one of his fingers. I hadn’t even realized I was smiling. Not at his pain, but because my mate had just taken out a full grown male rogue by herself.

“Shut up” she snapped at him. I heard Jordan come in followed by some other scents; I recognized as they got closer as Mike, Micah, Adam and Zach one of the patrols Kayden tied to a tree.  Jordan appeared

“Well damn” Mike said looking down at them.

“The Luna can take care of herself” Adam finished. They always did that- finished each other’s sentences. Zach was just looking at him weird.

“What's up” Micah said.

“Global warming, bad economy, gas prices are up” she told him. She’s such a smart ass. Laughter filled the room.

“I don’t know how he got in Alpha, I had some of my best patrols running last night” he told me.

“not good enough” the rogue on the floor sang, she broke another one of his fingers telling him to shut up.

She froze on the floor looking at his other arm “Somebody come get him” she said, Mike and Adam pulled him up holding him, she took his wrist and pulled his sleeve up. Her eyes were on one of his tattoos. I recognized it immediately, it was almost like the one she had on her rib cage, except it was different in a few ways.

She let his wrist go “Get him out of here” She told Adam and Mike softly, they walked him out.

“You alright?” Micah asked her looking over her body for any injuries.

“Yeah” she replied.

He turned around and left “Alpha there’s no way he could have gotten in” Zach told me.

“Well he did” I replied.

“Jase” Kayden scolded me for my tone.

“There’s other ways to get into territories” she told us.

“Like what?” Jordan asked.

“Take me to the territory line” she said looking at me.

“Absolutely not” Jordan and I said at the same time.

“I can show you how he got in” she told me.

“no” I said again.

“Jase if she shows us how they get in, you won't have any more visitors” Jordan told me lowly.
