Super hyped about this chapter!!!! It's when things take a turn for the worst, but you kinda figured that it's called Love, Lies and Medicine after all! Enough of all love let's get to the drama!!!  Enjoy!!!

Grant Don Beauton stood behind the podium and spoke with human eloquence. He recited a speech that would have given the great Hitler chills. It was forceful yet elegant and unforgettable. He received his award only moments ago from the Vice President and was supposed to give a simple thank you speech but it was anything other than what people expected. Grant had a way of doing that.

The entire ballroom was silent. All eyes and ears were on the man speaking. He knew how to effectively capture the audience's attention. Lucas glanced over at Marilyn who's eyes along with everyone else' at her table was glued to Grant.

Not too far from behind her head, leaning on a wall was the same bartender from earlier. Once again he was staring at Lucas before he even looked at him. Lucas looked back at his father when he heard him say his name. Lucas didn’t here what he said but he assumed he was probably recognizing him as CEO. He sent a smirk towards his father and glanced back over at where the bartender was just standing only to find him gone. He looked over the room quickly but couldn’t find not even one server or bartender. The banquet hall was completely void of every server in black and white.

"I don't suppose your incapacity to pay attention to your own father give a speech wouldn't have anything to do with the woman you brought tonight." Laken whispered. Lucas and his brothers were standing off the side of the stage waiting for their father to finish his speech. Lucas being closest to the audience, Laken then Luke being the furthest from the audience.

Laken was a split image of Grant. All three brothers had inherited their father's golden brown hair color but Luke and Lucas had looked just like their mother while Laken had Grant's obsidian dark eyes. All three brothers were around the same height but Laken was nowhere as big as Luke. He was just as handsome as his brothers but his attitude and personality made him unattractive.

"The woman I brought tonight is none of your business.” Lucas responded coldly.

It was no surprised Lucas and Laken didn't get along. Laken is the oldest brother and therefore was supposed to inherit BEAU but Grant had changed his mind after seeing Laken display such unsurpassable weakness by crying at his mother's funeral.

He as the oldest brother was the closest to his mother and Grant despised that. He had justified not making him the heir of BEAU by saying that he was too attached to his emotions to run the company the way Grant wanted. Since Luke would have rather died than be CEO of BEAU, the company naturally went to Lucas.

"Oh, But she is my business! No girl is going to waltz into your life without me knowing, younger brother." Laken placed a hand on Lucas shoulder.

If anyone from the crowd managed to tear their gaze from Grant and see the two it would look like the two brothers were half-heartedly embracing each other, but on the inside Lucas wanted nothing more than to burn Laken's arm from his socket.

Lucas had no intention of ever hating his brother but ever since becoming CEO of BEAU Laken had made it his business to give Lucas hell.

"Well, from what my investigators reported, it's less of her waltzing in and more of you gravelling for her to be in your life." Lucas eyes flashed to his eldest brother who received his look of surprise with a sinister grin.

"You’re pathetic Lucas! BEAU sent you to Paris to negotiate a deal with our investors, not going off to find yourself a little playmate." After BEAU was taken away from Laken he was trying his hardest to find fault with his younger brother so he can gain the company back.
