Epilogue

ONE YEAR LATER

"You wanna know what the best thing in my life is?" Xiumin says to Truc with a smirk. She rolls her eyes and looks at him with a glare.

"What is it?" Truc says sarcastically. She waits for the answer to another one of his lame jokes.

"It's the first word of that sentence?" Xiumin says. It took a minute until Truc realised what he meant. She blushed and looked away from him.

The two were eating ice cream at bench by the park where they first met. They were sitting cross legged on the bench whilst facing each other. They had spent their whole day together and now were just sitting there and talking about old childhood memories together.

After Truc thought about her friendship with Xiumin, she knew that she was ready for their relationship and when she told Xiumin, he was beyond happy. All the misunderstandings from the previous year were well forgotten by the two as they began dating. They were happier than ever. Even Lynh was happy with their relationship and hoped for the best for them.

"Remember when we met here?" Xiumin says as Truc smiles at the memory. "You looked really pretty when I saw you at the swing but I didn't talk to you until I saw you crying. You cried so loud that you scared everyone away."

He chuckles whilst Truc glares at him.

"Then you came along with a lollipop," she mumbles as she recalls the memory.

"I was your prince charming," he says proudly and Truc just laughs at his childish behaviour.

"Who knew you would end up being my best friend?" Truc says with a small smile.

"Correction: boyfriend," he smirks and Truc rolls her eyes and continues eating her ice cream.

"You have something here," Xiumin says whilst pointing to the side of her mouth. Truc grabs a tissue but Xiumin stops her.

"Let me do it," he says and moves closer to her face. Her face was beetroot red and she suddenly closes her eyes. He watches as she does that and slightly chuckles as he suddenly gets an idea. He moves his face until he was a few centimetres from her face and stops.

"Did you really think I would do that for you?" He whispers and Truc opens her eyes quickly to see his smirking face.

"H-hey!" She says and pushes him away. He laughs and sits back down. Truc could feel her cheeks becoming warmer than before from embarrassment and mentally scolded herself for being so stupid. She was surprised when she felt Xiumin peck her cheek.

She turns to him and gives him a small glare. He pinched her cheeks and smiles happily.

"You're so weird," she mumbles. The two finish their ice creams and start walking around the park, hand in hand. They went to the playground and sat at the swings. Xiumin suddenly went closer to Truc and gave her a peck on the cheek, again. She looked a bit surprised and lightly pushed him away.

"What are you doing?" She says and Xiumin chuckles.

"Can't I show my love for my girlfriend?" He says sweetly whilst kissing her cheek again and again. Truc giggled and tried to push him away but failed. She suddenly got an idea and went closer to his face. He was slightly shocked that she reacted that way but moved his face closer to hers. Truc gave him a childish grin and jumped up from the swing and ran away. Xiumin was still sitting in the swing and was a bit taken back from what she did. It took him a while to realise what happened.

Once he realised what had happened, he got up and chased after her. Unfortunately for Truc, Xiumin was way faster than her and caught up to her quickly. She squealed when he held her waist and turned her around but the two of them fell tripped over each other's feet and fell onto the ground.

"Xiumin get off me, your heavy," Truc groans whilst trying to push him off.

Xiumin chuckles and sits up on his forearms and looks into Truc's eyes. She blushes a bit but blushes more when Xiumin moves closer to her face. He closes his eyes and Truc suddenly realises what he's doing. She didn't like to do these kinds of things in public so she covered her mouth with the back of her hand. Xiumin sweetly smiles at her and kisses her hand where her lips would be. Truc's eyes widen when his lips come in contact with her hand and was blushing furiously. Once he pulled away, he looked at bit embarrassed. 

The two looked at each other's eyes and Truc's hand slowly went away from her mouth. Xiumin took this chance and slowly moved his face closer to hers. She closed her eyes and heard Xiumin say three words which made her heart flutter. 

"I love you," Xiumin whispers before pressing his lips on hers. The kiss felt magical as the two made it deeper and more passionate. Even though, Truc was used to these kinds of kisses from Xiumin, she would still find herself flustered and shy which Xiumin found adorable.

The two pulled away from each other and Xiumin leaned his head on Truc's forehead. They looked at each other and knew this is what they wanted for each other.

"Marry me," Xiumin suddenly says and Truc looks at him with wide eyes.

"W-what?" Truc whispers. Xiumin sits up and pulls Truc up and they sit in front of each other whilst holding hands.

"When we get older and we feel like it's the right time. Marry me," he says with a shy smile.

"Truc, I've loved you since I first met you. I feel like you really are the one for me. We've been through our ups and downs together and I want to be with you for the rest of my life," he says and Truc smiles and wraps his arms around him.

"I love you. Of course, I'll marry you," she says as Xiumin puts his chin on top of hers.

"Thank you for saying yes," he says and kisses the top of my head.

"Why wouldn't I?" Truc says whilst pulling back. She laughed and held his face in her hands.

"We've been through such a complicated relationship, I just feel like maybe you didn't think the same," he says and Truc pecks him on the lips.

"Why wouldn't I marry you? You're my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you," she says and Xiumin smiles sheepishly.

They both lie down on the grass whilst looking up at the blue sky. He intertwines their hands and pulls it close to his lips and kisses it. Truc smiles whilst looking at him and kisses his hand. The two just stare at each other whilst smiling.

Xiumin couldn't be any happier to be with Truc. He felt as if all of his dreams had come true. Even after all the regret and guilt he had gone through, he was still able to find happiness with Truc.

Truc was more than happy that Xiumin proposed to her. When she was younger, she had dreamed that her husband would be her best friend and now it was real. She couldn't describe how she was feeling right now. She was happy, excited and slightly nervous to get married to Xiumin but she knew he was the one for her.

After going through that one year, the two were able to confess their feelings and were able to love one another the way they couldn't before. Although their love story was complicated, everything turned out simple in the end.
