"You're lying to me." I say simply, the amusement long gone from my eyes. I may have changed with my mood, now a lot happier but once you bring up the topic of my parents.. I'm all anger.

"Paris you have to believe me. I wouldn't lie to you." He says, pleading me with his eyes. I look closely, grabbing his chin so I can look eye-level with him.

And I find honestly as I look into his gaze.

"But how? I watched them die.." I whisper, not understanding the least. I wish my anger would come.. but it doesn't.. it just vanishes like everyone I've ever loved.

"You watched people who looked like your parents die- Lukas set you up Paris, he wanted power so he threatened them, and when they left to protect your life, he took over." He says with a frown.

"They were my parents.. I held them after he left," I reply, my eyebrows furrowing. I could've sworn they were my parents.. they couldn't of been impostors.

"You held people with masks that took a year to make. You held strangers in your arms. Paris.. I'm so sorry." He says, moving to hug me but I move back, staring at him with a confused look still.

"How do you know this?" I ask him, dreading the answer.

"My name is Jackson Lopez, your fathers best friend." My mouth drops, a hand coming to my mouth as I hold back a sob threatening to escape.

"Paris? Love, this is my best friend Jackson Lopez," my father says with a kind smile. The stranger mirroring the expression. I narrow my seven year old eyes, looking at him threateningly.

"Aren't you a feisty cutie?" The man who's name is Jackson says, bending down to squat, a grin on his face. Not a creepy grin, an awe-struck grin.

"I'm not cute. I'm sassy," I say, throwing my hair behind my back, grinning at the man.

"Richard, you have the most cutest daughter," the man says winking at me when he says 'cutest' making me stick my tongue out.

"I thought you'd love her Jackson," my father says, smiling down at me.

"Daddy, I'm hungry." I state, earning a growl from my stomach and I grin, as they both laugh at me.

"Well sweetheart, I have to go take care of some business, but Jackson will be taking care of you today. You can trust him, okay?" I nod my head, wrapping my arms around his legs.

"I love you baby girl," he says picking me up and kissing my cheeks then my forehead, kissing my nose finally before grabbing my wolf necklace he gave me when I was born and kissing it, it was our way of saying goodbye for now, but I'll see you soon.

"I love you too daddy," I say with a smile as he waves and walks out of the door, locking it behind him.

I turn to Jackson, looking up at the tall man who's grinning down at me in awe, I roll my eyes dramatically and glaring. "Are you just going to stand there all day and stare at me like a creep or make me some Mac and cheese?" I ask with a pout.

"Um.. Mac and cheese?" He asks and I smirk, loving the feeling of control.

"Good boy. Now get me my food you maid," I say with a grin, and run off as he runs after, catching me and tickling me.

~

"Jackson?" I whisper and he nods his head with a grin, one that I remember very well.

"Hello Paris, nice to see your still full of attitude huh?" He asks with a laugh, wrapping an arm around me in a fatherly way. He was always my second father when my real one was working, I could talk to him about anything.

But he disappeared when my father disappeared.

"Where is he? My father, I mean.." I whisper, trailing off. I hear footsteps behind us, but pay no attention. I'm too happy to move and nothing could make me ever happier than I am right now.

"Right here baby girl," I hear a familiar voice says in his usual deep voice. I froze mid-air, my hand falling to my lap numbly before turning around slowly to see the man who loved me with his whole heart. The man I thought I lost.

My father.

He stands in dark jeans and a white button-up, his brown hair everywhere but in a nice way, an his glowing blue eyes that I inherited from him are glowing more than what I ever remember. A smile is on his face, wrinkles crinkling at the corner of his eyes.

"Daddy.." I whisper, standing up and running towards him, and instead of thinking it was my imagination that any of this happened, his arms wrap around me and I believe it's true.

I believe he's right here in front of me, hugging me tightly with tears running from his eyes.

"Baby girl.. you've made me proud," he whispers, kissing my cheeks, my forehead, my nose and then finally the wolf necklace which hasn't been taken off since he put it on me at birth.

I hug him tighter, letting my head fall in the crook of his neck, enjoying the smell of his scent that used to make me stop crying.

It made me safe.

"Daddy, where's mom?" I ask, looking up into the eyes that mirror mine exactly.

"She didn't make it through.. she was killed by Lukas a few months back." I look down, his arms tightening around me as he lays his chin on top of mine.

"You're actually here," I mumble, my nails holding into him tightly as if any moment I'll lose him. I can't lose him.. not again.

"I won't leave you again sweetheart." He says into my ear, running his hands through my hair that matches the color of his exactly. I hold onto him like my life depends on it.

And maybe it does.

All I know is I have my dad again, and I have a reason to go on.

I have a reason to change.

I have a reason.. to win.
