~Russell's POV~
It's been a few hours since arriving back at Dax's dorm building. Whitefang is so ecstatic, I am having a little bit of trouble keeping him back in order to keep Dax from seeing my purple eyes.
We talk about easy things like favorite foods, which turns out to be lasagna, pizza, and cheese. For his favorite colors, he tells me they are blue, black, purple, and green. Next are his favorite animals, which are horses and huskies. Finally his favorite things in general turn out to be cuddling, drives to nowhere in particular because they're relaxing, reading, and listening to loud music.
It's really nice getting to know Dax better, he's given me clues for what to do for future dates.
"What made you choose nursing school?" I ask, getting into the deeper details of him.
"I want to help people feel better; I dislike seeing them in pain," he tells me.
"That's really sweet," I tell him honestly, making him blush a little.
"Thank you," he says softly. I nod, smiling at him.
"What do your parents do?" I ask him but regret it when I see the pained look on his face.
"I... don't really want to talk about my parents," Dax says sadly. It pains Whitefang and I, seeing him torn up about his parents.
"What is your fave kind of music?" I ask changing the subject, then send him an apologetic look when he finally looks back up at me.
"I'll show you," Dax says with a sly smile before he bolts into his room then comes out with a speaker and his phone.
"What did I get myself into?" I chuckle teasingly, winking at Dax. He smiles and then sits his speaker down, turns it on, then his phone automatically connects to it with a ding.
"This song is my most favorite one," says Dax excitedly, opening up an app on his phone then he presses his screen a few more times, eventually making music play. I recognize the song as 'Young And Beautiful,' by Lana Del Ray.
While we sit on his couch listening to it as the girl starts to sing and Dax along with her, closing his eyes.
I'm having trouble keeping my emotions in check when the chorus starts, then Dax opens his eyes and looks at me with a beautiful smile on his face. Before I can stop myself, I reach over and kiss him, then my heart nearly stops when he kisses me back, making me feel like the luckiest Wolf in the country.
It's a sweet but passionate kiss that continues on until we break away gasping for air. After a few seconds, I start to panic when I realize that I just kissed him with out even asking.
"I'm sorry, I hope I didn't cross a line?" I ask worriedly while looking at the ground. I assume it's from the whole mates thing, but I feel all of my formal tendencies slip away from me when I am around Dax.
"No, you're fine, I liked it," Dax replies instantly calming my nerves. I let out a sigh of relief then look back at Dax with a smile.
"Hey I have an idea," I state then pause to see Dax's reaction. "Lets go on a lunch date?" I finish, waiting for his response. I watch him think for a few seconds before giving me an answer which makes me a little nervous.
"Sure, I'd like to have a lunch date with you," Dax says with a smile. My Wolf is going ballistic inside me, but somehow I manage to keep him under control.
