~Daxera's POV~

So much for working on control, I think to myself as I try to create a small forcefield with my scepter.

"You need to push more energy into it, Dax, not too much though, and keep it flowing too," Darius says as I fail for the millionth time. I sigh.

"Maybe I would get it down better if you would throw a spell or something at me," I suggest, remembering the feeling of urgency when I used my Magic to slow down the virus. "When I've used my Magic, its always been out of instinct and/or urgency."

"What were you feeling right before you claimed your talisman?" Darius asks me. I think about it for a second.

"Well, after you told me I needed to claim it, my instincts kicked in so I followed them and suddenly, I was pulling Magical energy from around me into myself. When I felt that I had accumulated enough energy, I then began pulling it out of myself, sending all but just enough to not pass out, into the ring," I tell him unsure if that actually helps.

"There's the problem. You put a lot of your Magic energy into claiming it. You need to meditate again to top yourself up, kinda like filling up the gas tank in a car, but that car is you, remember that," Darius tells me.

"That makes sense, thank you for helping me so much with this," I say as I sit down in the same position as before and relax. Visualizing the energy around me in my mind, I begin pulling it towards me until I feel that I can't hold any more energy.

"That was a lot of energy you piled up again so like Irelia said, make sure you control your flow, only use enough energy to cancel out the attack," Mirana interjects. I nod then hold out my scepter in front of me again. As I visualize a forcefield forming, I try to regulate the amount of energy that I am pushing into it, by imagining that it is at a trickle. Soon, I find myself with a fully formed shield of Magic energy.

"Good, good," Darius says then he suddenly forms his necklace into a staff. He aims it at me then fires his own Magic, which shoots towards me. Quickly, I spin towards him with the shield, beefing it up a little, just in time as the energy hits it and explodes.

Keeping up the necessary amount of energy into the shield, I make sure holds and stops the explosion.

"That was awesome!" I say excitedly as I dissipate my shield. "I cant believe it worked! What would that have done to me if I didn't block it?" I ask as I notice that Russell is glaring at Darius.

"It would have just thrown you back a few feet, no actual harm, maybe some scrapes," he says with a shrug. I nod, hoping Russell knows I'm not in any real danger.

"Alright, fire some more at me," I say as I ready myself.

Just as the energy ball is about to hit me, I put my shield out effectively stopping it and the one that hits a split second later. After stopping a few more each stronger than the next, Darius is satisfied with my shield skills.

"Next I want you to learn how to shoot those energy balls," he tells me as his staff morphs into a scepter. I then change my scepter into a staff that looks like a bigger version of the scepter. It is made from mahogany wood with an amethyst crystal at the top held by a cobalt chrome Wolf paw that grips it with black zirconium claws keeping it secure.

"You two went all out in making this didn't you?" I ask still unable to get over how beautiful my talisman is.

"After we were finally able to settle down, we had an idea of how we wanted to build your talisman. As we already knew that you were going to be the mate of a Wolf, we decided that a paw would hold the crystal. Honestly we never gave up on one day being able to meet you," Mirana says the last part with happy tears. I walk over to her then give her a hug. She pulls Darius into the hug as well. We stay this way for about a minute before I pull out of the hug.
