Chapter Seventeen: The Drive

~Russell's POV~

"Isn't it possible that he was the one who created the virus?" One of the pack members asks me. I sigh in annoyance.

"No, it is not," I say sternly. "He had no idea he is even part Witch, much less Wolf Shifters until I told him I am one." I look around at the small group of people. "If anyone so much as looks at Dax the wrong way, you'll be answering to me," I add viciously.

"He isn't even a part of the pack! How do you expect us-" I cut off the girl who spoke up this time.

"I've already connected him to the pack link for one, and for two, he is my mate! Your Luna! Anyone who is in this pack who doesn't like it can either leave or deal with it. I will not stand for disobedience. Make your choices," I command feeling frustrated. I watch as the group of people fidget and look around nervously for a few minutes. No one stands up and I nod. "Good, I am happy we finally have that settled," I say then turn away from the group.

'Russ there is a rogue Wolf at the edge of our territory on the road. He says he wants to talk to you,' John says in my head. I sigh then reply.

'Alright, I am on my way.' I am about to shift then remembered the virus. I sigh out of frustration then walk to where my car is parked. I pull out my keys, unlock the car, then get in. Before I can pull out of the driveway, the door opens then Orion gets in the car.

"You forgot to have me come with you just in case," Orion informs me with a questioning tone, without actually asking anything.

"Sorry, I have been running around doing damage control ever since Dax fell asleep. You'd think everyone would be happy for him helping a little," I say tiredly. "I didn't even think about it," I add. Orion nods then I pull out of the driveway and head down the road.

"They'll get used to him eventually," he tells me.

I hope so.

Once I see John, I slow down and park a few feet away from him, then getting out, staying by the car.

"Thanks for seeing me, Alpha Russell." I hear a voice on the other side of John. I look past him to see a tall man with black hair and gray eyes. He is wearing black jeans and a simple black tee shirt.

"Who are you?" I ask eyeing the man.

"I am someone who can help you. I can tell you why 'Alpha' Clovis is attacking you and when. I am Dante," He replies formally but spits out the word 'Alpha' like it is poison.

'What do you think John, Orion?' I ask through the link.

'Well... if he can tell us what is going on, then let him in. We can take him down if he tries anything. Plus he is alone here, he can't do much damage by himself,' John says to me.

'I agree' Orion adds.

"Alright then, I will take you to the pack house in the car," I say as I gesture towards the Mustang. Dante then shakes his head.

"I will run behind the car while you drive your friends and yourself back," he says as I look at him quizzically.

"If you shift you'll get sick too," I reply.

"As long as I am not a part of the pack, I won't get sick. That is how he plans to get onto your lands without his pack getting sick too," Dante says.
