Chapter Thirteen: Mates Wolves And Wolf Shifters Oh My

(New pov changes;)

~Russell's POV~

I perk my ears up after hearing a sound coming from the Diner. I look up to see Charlie walking through the door with Jess as they're led to one of the dining tables on the back veranda. I nudge Dax to look at the Diner. He looks up at me in question then when he hears Charlie talk, his ears twitch and he turns his head towards the sounds.

'Um.. should we go over there?' Dax asks me. I think for a second then decide to ask Jess. She knows about my plan to have Charlie get used to big Wolves before she tells him she is one, but I let her decide when we meet Char as Wolves.

'Jess, may we come over?' I ask as she turns her head towards us.

'Sure but walk up slowly like you did with Dax,' Jess replies. I nod to Dax and he swishes his tail happily.

'Walk slow,' I say to Dax as we get up and start to walk over to the veranda.

'Orion, you ready to play fight in a few minuets?' I ask him. He has been here for a few hours waiting for Dax and I to come after his change.

'Yeah,' is all he says.

As Dax and I walk closer to Charlie, he finally notices that two giant Wolves are walking towards him. He gasps at the sight of us causing us to stop dead in our tracks.

"Hey those are Dax and Russell's pets aren't they?" Char says as he stands up and walks to the steps. He stops then stands at the top of the stairs and turns to Jess. "Is it safe to pet them still? I mean, I know Dax's wolf licked my hand earlier but sill," Char asks timidly. Dax and I sit on our hunches waiting for him to make up his mind.

"Yeah its safe they'll never hurt you," Jess responds truthfully. Dax and I need to act more animal-like to not scare Charlie off, so when he turns to face us, we swish our tails and pant excitedly.

"They look so badass," Charlie says with a smile. I mentally sigh.

'Well that is a good response,' I say to them both.

"They are really nice Wolves. I have one too but she's not here right now," Jess says causing Dax to laugh through the link.

'Well, his response is better then what I thought. I figured he'd freak out more,' I say awkwardly, causing Jess to shoot a glare at me.

'Have more faith than that,' she practically yells at me

"Where is your wolf?" Charlie asks while he pets Dax and I.

"Somewhere in the forest," she says without missing a beat.

I stand up and push Dax over with my back end. He playfully growls at me then I turn and take off at a slow enough speed to not freak out Charlie. Dax clearly doesn't get the message though, so he plows into me at a faster speed then mine, causing us to role on the ground a few times. I bounce up and get into a play stance. Dax follows suit then I jump at him playfully nipping at his ears.

'This is fun!' Dax tells me though the link as he pretends to run away from me. I run after him while we circle a small area. I hear a twig break at the tree line.

'Orion is coming. Play stance in.. 3.. 2.. 1,' I say to Dax then in unison we turn towards where Orion is in waiting and get down into a play stance. Orion sees this then bolts out of the tree line, racing towards us. Charlie gasps as he watches us. Orion slides to a stop a couple feet away from us then drops into a stance like Dax and I are doing.
