~Russell's POV~

'There is a cave we can take him to. It's not that big but it'll have to do,' Orion says after a few minuet search by him, as I sit with Dax, keeping presser on the bullet wound. I pick Dax up, making him whimper in pain.

'Take me there.' I wait a few seconds then see Orion come from the cave he is talking about. I quickly head to the cave, walk in, and lay Dax down in it.

"Is it silver?" Dante asks me. I shake my head in response.

"A silver bullet is only useful when the target is a lot closer. A silver bullet is light, which means that its path can be altered easily by the wind," I tell him all while I make Dax comfortable.

"They're probably going to come looking for us considering that one of us is hurt now," Orion says causing me to realize that I didn't see him shift.

"Can't you call your pack?" Dante asks.

"Well, we can if we have service but no one from the pack is going to make it here before they attack us again," I counter. He nods leaving it at that.

I look at Dax's leg and sigh.

Even if I can get the bullet out, it'll take at least an hour for the wound to heal. I think to myself, trying not to panic. I pull off the weapons I had taken from the car, from off myself, then sit down by Dax. I take off the one I put on him and place it in the same spot.

Deciding I may need one, I pick one of the pistols from the pile and take it with me along with an extra clip.

"Stay here, I'm going to scout out the area a bit," I command the others. "And if you can, try to get the bullet out," I add.

Walking from the small cave then out and into the warm sunlight, I scan around the small mountain plus the direction we came from.

No movement. I turn to the right of the cave then I sit the gun and ammo onto a rock. After I shift into my Wolf form, I pick up both in my mouth.

I trot along the mountain, my paws kicking up small amounts of the warm, puffy dirt, while sniffing the air for any unfamiliar scents. I turn and start up the mountain.

Stopping about halfway up, I turn around and look out over the land but all I see is the same nothingness of the desert we are in. I sigh.

At least they don't seem to be coming after us yet, I think to myself.

I sit on the side of the mountain for a little while, as I watch for anyone coming after us. It seems strange that they didn't follow us right away considering that they were probably sent to kill us. I then begin to think of Dax so I decide to see how he is doing.

'How is Dax?' I ask Orion.

'Uhhhh...' Orion drags out, then pauses. 'He and I are in the middle of taking the bullet out...' He says sounding like he has no idea what's going on.

'What is going on?' I ask worriedly as I then bolt down the mountain towards where the cave is.

'Well, you know how we can show others what we see?' Orion responds with a question.

'Obviously, yes I do,' I say with slight annoyance.

'Dax has done that but... he sorta... took control of my hands and is removing the bullet himself...?' Orion says with confusion in his tone.

What Orion has just said shocks me and makes me lose my footing while I am running causing me to trip, landing on my side, and rolling down the mountain the rest of the way. Luckily, I was already close to the bottom when that happens, allowing me to keep a hold on the gun and ammo in my mouth. I also manage not to hurt myself either.
