Chapter Twenty-One: Obliteration

~Daxera's POV~

I wake up to the warm feeling of Russell cuddling me. I sigh contently and snuggle closer to him under the blanket that covers us both.

"Good morning, Dax," Russell says then he kisses my quickly closed right eye.

"Good morning, how'd you sleep?" I ask with a yawn.

"I slept good," he replies with a sigh and rubs his eyes.

"What's wrong?" I ask as I lift myself up and look at him.

He sighs again before he answers, "we have to go to on another trip, but I am worried about you going on it. I don't want you to get hurt again."

This time I sigh then turn his face towards me with my left hand.

"If we fly this time, there will be no car wrecks and we wont get stranded. Also, I'd rather we be together if something happens then to be apart and worry. Besides, we're going to a friendly Witch coven and who better to show up then a fellow Witch who's also a Wolf?" I ask with a cute smile, making him roll his eyes at me.

"You'll have me there, and we are going to be extra careful. At the first sign of danger, we are getting the hell out of there, no more doing your crazy shit," Russell tells me in a 'no arguing' tone.

"Alright, except for the crazy shit, deal," I say excitedly, making him scoff, as I pull myself out of bed. I then walk towards the bathroom and start up the shower, turning it to an almost scolding temperature. 'You want to join me, love?' I ask Russ through the link. I hear him growl seductively from the other room then a few seconds later he comes walking in naked.

"How's the water?" He asks as he touches it. I chuckle as he jerks his hand away from it violently. "How do you take showers like this?" I shake my head.

"I don't know, hot water is just relaxing to me," I say as I turn the water temperature down. "Is that better?" I ask in a cooing tone. He sticks his hand gingerly into the water again but doesn't immediately pull it away.

"That's better," he says as he steps into the shower, pulling me in with him. I chuckle while he holds me close to him and looks into my eyes. "I am lucky I have you Dax, I really am," he tells me in the most sincere tone he has ever used, causing a few tears to fall from my eyes.

"You are the best thing to ever happen to me. I don't care that all of this crazy stuff is going on, I will go to the ends of the earth with you." More tears fall as I speak from my heart to him. He smiles at me then pulls me in for a crushing hug. I relax into him, resting my head on his fuzzy shoulder.

"I hate to break up our tender moment, but we should get done with our shower and get ready," Russell whispers in my ear. I chuckle then nod as I back us up into the water letting it cascade down us both.

After our shower, I get dressed in dark colored skinnies and a dark-colored T-shirt. I turn around then see Russell putting on shorts and a tank top.

Suddenly we hear a knock on the door then, instinctively, I smell the air. I recognize the scents as Jess and one of the pack members who showed up at the cave yesterday.

"Come in," Russell says as the door opens. I nod to Jess and the other Wolf who smiles at me.

"I am glad to see you both recovered from yesterdays events Alpha and Luna," he says formally. I cough due to the unexpected formalities.
