Three weeks later.

Garroth's father has been more lenient with letting Garroth go to places with Aphmau.

Though it's been a couple weeks, and Garroth had not told her about the deal he has made.

Aphmau did mess her knee up pretty bad. She had something that would help it heal faster but, it still would take a month.

She only had one week to go.

When she was taken from the assassins, she had broken her leg in the process.

They decided to stay somewhere safe in o'khasis.

Aphmau was almost miserable. She wasn't mobile, which made her feel even worse.

She didn't like to depend on other people to do things for her. She never liked that.

Currently, she was making something to drink when the mug tipped over and caused it to shatter all over the floor.

"Frick!"

Aphmau let out a frustrated sigh, bending over, trying to pick up all the pieces.

She heard foot steps coming down from
The place they were staying in. "Babe? What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Aphmau hopper away from the mess, making sure that she didn't get any glass in her foot.

"Yeah, yeah. I just tipped this over and-"

Garroth walked around her, finding his way toward Aphmau and kissed her.

"I'll clean it up." He chuckled. "I know it's hard. Go sit on the couch and I'll meet you there after I'm done."

She sighed and nodded. She hopped over to the couch and rested her head in her palm.

Garroth was just finished cleaning everything before he went onto the the couch joining her.

He wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "How have you been?"

"Shit."

"I know. But you'll be back on your feet in a week. You've survived this long, you can get through one week."

"Fine. I'll try."

Garroth chuckled, kissing her temple. "That's great, love."

•••

"You know, whenever I see you, it's like I'm falling in love with you all over again."

Aphmau rolled her eyes at her boyfriends comment.  "That's as cliche as it'll ever get."

Garroth chuckled, pulling Aphmau closer to him, snaking his arms around her waist.

"I love you."

"I love you too." Aphmau pecked his lips.  "But if you say something gross like that, I will throw up all over you."

He raised his hands in surrender.  "I'll say non-cheesy sarcastic things."

He lowered his hands and muttered.  "Even though I know you secretly like it."

"G-Garroth!"

They both started to laugh as Aphmau hopped around the house that they were staying in.

"I'm surprised that we have not gotten caught-"

"Don't jinx it!" He whisper shouted.

She giggled, which Aphmau hardly ever did around people.  She hardly did anything around anyone now days.

But Garroth?

She felt like Garroth was one of the only people she trusted.  Though it boggles her how easily she just trusted him with the snap of two fingers.

They were in the bedroom, laid back, Garroth was reading and Aphmau was sharpening a small knife that she always had.

"Garroth?"

"Yeah?"

"Who was before me?"

He pressed his lips into a line before answering.  "What do you mean?"

"Who was the girl before me?"

"Um, 'love' wasn't really a thing in my family. Especially because I was put into so many arranged marriages. But I did like this one girl. But we didn't date."

"Oh."

"Yeah. But I have not seen her for the past like, ten years."

"That sucks."

He sighed. "Not really. I'd rather not see her again, hence you being my girlfriend. You'd probably destroy her."

Aphmau laughed. "Maybe."

"No, you'd pretty much destroy her. Tear her to pieces. I don't know but you could kill her if you wanted to."

"Garroth, calm down. I don't even know her name. And I don't need to because I'm not worried."

He let out a joking breath of relief then he chuckled, going back to the book.

Aphmau out her knife back into its holster, setting the sharpening to down.

She got on top of Garroth, remembering the page number he was on and closing the book.

Before he could say anything. Aphmau had already answered his question. "Page 73."

She crashed her lips onto his, she wrapped her arms around his neck as his went around her torso. His arms started to sag lower as they kept kissing.

Their lips collided once more, making them both flutter on the inside.

Garroth pulled the bottom of her shirt before a huge pounding on the door followed.

They peeled off of each other, Aphmau getting onto her crutches. "To be continued babe, don't worry about it."

He nodded. "I'm not worried about that."

"O'khasis guards! Open up!"

Garroth creeped the door open. "Be ready to move s best as you can."

Aphmau nodded, already getting her weapons ready. "I'm not useless on one leg. Scream if you need help."

And with that, Garroth went downstairs to answer the door.
