*fuve months later*

You now have permission to call Garroth Ro'meave the biggest idiot alive.

He had not told Aphmau another the deal and t was already the end of June.

He never had the guts to let her in on the news.   The more he waited them more he knew it would bite him back in the end.

He sighed, his finger swirling her bare back, not wanting to wake the sleeping beauty.

He had to turn her into his Father by tomorrow and he knew that if he told her last minute she would freak it on him.

He had no other choices.

Something had to be done, and he wasn't even sure if it was about the lordship.  All he worried about was Aphmau's safety.

But he knew that if she found out at this point, she would think everything was a joke.  That she had been played like the rest.

And he didn't want to be that guy to her.  He never wished to be that guy.

Made her juice, pouring a sleeping potion in it, mixing it slightly.

She stirred in her sleep, fluttering her eyes open, keeping the sheet high. He tossed her clothes as she slid them on.

"Here,"

She smiled, thanking him.  She drank it, seeing the necklace that he gave her.

Within five minutes, she was sleeping again.  He carried her to the throne room of his palace.

When he arrived, he saw Vylad give him a disapproving look, shaking his head.

"Ah my son, you're a day early."

"You're not going to kill her, right?"  He asked, selfishly holding her so that the guards couldn't take her.

"I promise, I'm not going to kill her.  She'll be useful to us as long as she's under control."

Garroth gave her to the guard who carried her to the cells.

"I understand that you may have some lingering feelings for her so you may visit as much as you want but her cage is enchanted so she can't get out."

He nodded, walking out for he room.

"You did well, my son."

Garroth didn't say anything back.  All he did was  walk out and looked for Vylad.

•••

"We can get her out of this."

"She's not going to trust you after this, Garroth."

"I know.  But we don't have a choice.  I fucking love her, Vylad.  I wouldn't let anyone kill her."

"I don't think she's going to think that.  She's probably awake by now, denying that you bright her here and wanting you to rescue her."

He sighed, running a hand though his hair, stressed.  "I fucked up bad, Vylad."

"I know.  But I love you and you're my brother, so i go talk to her first.  I heard she's awake."

Garroth nodded, waiting in his room.  Vylad walked over to the castle's special holding cells, seeing a sobbing mess.

"Aphmau,"

"Vylad?"

She looked so weak but her voice sounded so strong.  She looked up gripping the bars.

"I knew you're angry and you think Garroth set you up, but as his brother, a good brother, I can assure you, he loves you with a burning passion."

A tear ran down her cheek as she wiped it quickly.

"I find that hard to believe, Vylad."

"If you can take my word for it, which may be hard, I understand.  But he does love you."

"Tell him I said he's an asshole."

"I will.  I already made him feel bad enough."  Vylad sighed, siting outside the barred cage.

"Our father made him a deal, one he couldn't refuse.  The cost of the lordship.  He said that he could turn you in to Garte in a years time then he doesn't have to inherit the lordship."

"Go on,"  She said, twisting at her necklace nervously.

"He accepted the deal and has wanted to tell you but he didn't have the strength to.  But he really did.  And all of the times he's told you he loves you is real.  It wasn't all fake.  But you have a right to be mad.  I'm sorry that it happened like this."

All Vylad could see was just this deeply hurt expression on Aphmau's face.  It felt like someone was stabbing her over and over again.

She was close to crying but she didn't.  She wasn't going to cry about someone who she didn't know.

"Tell him I said that he's an asshole, just like his father."

Vylad nodded, exiting the room.

He walked back, explaining what he said and repeating what she said to him.

Aphmau sat there, hugging her knees.  She cried silently into her knees, making sure that no one heard her.

A lady walked in, elderly.  She frowned at her mood.  She looked up seeing her and she wiped her face quickly.

"My name is Zoey and I'll be your doctor and caregiver.  I also have to put the barrier magiks that keep you in the cell.  I'm sorry."

"Don't be.  You're not the douche bag that put me in the cell.  You're just doing your job.  I'm Aphmau."

She was getting some sleep when she heard some footsteps.  She sat up seeing him.

She rolled her eyes.  "What do you want."

"I want to say sorry-"

"Sorry isn't going to get me out of the cage.  I can't believe you didn't tell me anything."

"I know-"

"How could you just do that to me?! You realized that you messed up bad and I don't think I can forgive you."

"I hope you'll find the strength to later on."

"We're done, by the way.  I'm just letting you know."

Garroth grimaced, knowing he couldn't get himself out of this one.

"If that's what you wish than so be it."
